    This issue is addressed with a new option "Honor Text Indents in addition to Text Wrap" in Preferences > Composition dialog. This option is ON for new docs created in ID2023 and needs to be turned ON for docs created in older versions of InDesign when opened in ID2023.

    Any update on this?

    I'm working on the same team and we are still plagued by this issue. Could it be that a changed preference in the new software is combining the left indent value of a paragraph with the text wrap value?

    It seems more natural for the left indented paragraph's indent value to be absorbed into the image text wrap value (which was the InDesign 2019 behavior.)

    As my teammate stressed this has presented an extraordinary amount of work for us. Expediency on addressing this issue would be appreciated.
