I've also had this issue happen over and over going back at least a year when I switched to Windows 10. Sometimes (only sometimes) this is solved by restarting the app, but not all the time. Sometimes you have to size down individual images within the document itself, and once in a while, you can't even export at all to a PDF. Pretty frustrating that Adobe hasn't fixed this ongoing issue that's been happening for AT LEAST a year. I'm not expecting they're going to do anything about it, but that would be nice anyways.

I did some tests and I can confirm that at least one fix is to replace one of the images that was scaled down to approximately 6% original size and replace with a smaller image to scale down less, maybe 20% of original size. By changing this one thing, it allowed me to export properly.

However, it seems that shouldn't be an issue since I've properly exported the same file with the large image scaled to 6% on a Mac.

When exporting some InDesign files to PDF, the export fails without any specific reason given. The PDF export settings are "Press Quality" and does not fail when selecting a lower quality export setting. I was able to export fully when changing the downsampling image settings to "do not downsample" and I was able to export without fail. However, this produces a massive file, and obviously is not what I want and will not work. I need the "Press Quality" settings.

This issue appears on Windows 10 (latest release as of this writing) and I have not had any problems using my old iMac exporting the same files.

This does not seem to be a hardware issue since my computer is new and very good performance (I'd rather not have to list out my specs).

It does seem that this issue should be fixed if it's on Adobe's end.
