*** UPDATE to previous post ***
I attempted to use 2017 IDCC but files are NOT compatible - must "convert" if I want to continue. Sorry - not gonna happen since I had to "convert" over to 2018. So now 2017 needs to be uninstalled & remove all traces of files/preferences. Installing 2018 ver.13.0 NOT 13.1 .This is BS & needs fixed ASAP!!!

(Original Post) Sorry but nothing is "fixed" from Adobe regarding the crashes. I've uninstalled, deleted all traces of 2018 IDCC to ensure that I have a new slate to begin new install. I've attempted this fix from their direct link: https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/crash-save-as-nas-server.html & of course, I cannot locate the actual file that claims to "fix" the issue. I work off Google Drive w/ALL my files. I've had a few crashes here and there w/previous versions but was able to work through it...but ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. Time is money and I've wasted an entire day figuring out if it was user error but NOT the case.

Here's a quick explanation of my issue:
    1. Launch ID after crash.
    2. Yes to attempt to recover data.
    3. SAVE AS different file name in case it crashes.
    4. CLOSE out the file.
    5. OPEN file that I renamed - no issue on the launch.
    6. select the page I'm working on - go to one of my layers to select.......AND BOOM
    7. CRASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    8. UNINSTALL 2018 IDCC and any files it left behind.
    9. Reverting to 2017 IDCC & hopefully that'll fix the issue.
