The fix of the issue is now available in the latest InDesign 2021(v16.0.0.77). We recommend you upgrade to the latest version for the fix.

If you are unable to see the update, go to the Creative Cloud application and click on the context menu on the top right and click on Check for App Updates.

I used InDesign to lay 3 books out in September 2017, no problems with printing to a HP 477 PS printer then.
I come back from 3 months overseas and InDesign gets updated. I am using the same book (documents) that had no problems in September but of course am editing it. Now about every second time I try to print from InDesign it crashes, nothing else has changed, just InDesign. I have Windows 10 64 bit. The crash is intermittent, sometimes it will print, sometimes not. Every time I try to print sample pages, I cross my fingers! Sometimes just reopening InDesign with Recovery means it will then print. This is an intermittent problem but regular enough to be very annoying and slowing my workflow considerably.
I have tried deleting the Preference file, that worls temporarily, it then prints fine but after one or two printings from different documents it then crashes. Deleting the preference file fixes it again.. I lay out books that have multiple chapters with between 96 and 320 pages. Judging from the number of others who are having printing problems I am not the only one with this issue. The suggestion of printing to a PDF file then open Acrobat to print a page while we are going through the editing process is a poor suggestion as its not much different to deleting the preference file. In other words, its kludge, not a fix.
