   The [Add "empty" state] command at the top of the Object States panel menu isn't an InDesign feature. The command is added to the panel menu by in5, a fantastic plugin for InDesign. See https://youtu.be/LCyUFzTq7xM and https://ajarproductions.com/pages/products/in5/
