InDesign 21.4.1, which includes the fix, is now live.
The update should be available in the Creative Cloud app. If you do not see it yet, please click “Check for Updates” to refresh the available updates.
Thank you for your patience and understanding while we worked to resolve this issue.

I'm having the same issue and it's frustrating as ****. The only workaround I've found is to group the objects after selecting and then moving them.
I'm also experiencing another (probably related) issue - when I select multiple objects and attempt to nominate the key object by clicking on the relevant object, it drops all other items. I can access 'key objects' from the alignment panel, and so far it's worked okay-ish but I can't designate the key object, it selects it automatically.
I agree. It would be great if you could add in a date field with inDesign instead of having to amend or 'finish' the file in Acrobat. That's just a level of double handling that we really shouldn't have to do.
If inDesign can put in text fields, radio buttons, tick boxes etc, then why not the date field? What's the reason it's been excluded from IND's capabilities?
