    I can confirm this bug using inDesign 21.2
    on MacOS 26.3.1
    with files saved on Synology NAS with DSM DSM 7.3.2-86009 Update 1,
    connected via SMB 3.

    Apparently there are several approaches:

    1. downgrading macOS an inDesign. Not an option because of newer file formats. This would also impact other services and apps.

    2. changing local SMB config, turning off "streams" and "unix extensions".
    streams=no
    unix extensions=no
    Might work but I have not tested this because a) I would have to do this on a whole bunch of machines, b) turning off streams makes finder tags invisible (which we rely on), c) turning off unix extensions apparently slows the system down (a bit). The second one is a deal breaker.

    Then there's connecting via AFP. It's slower, but packing works. Not ideal, because AFP is deprecated. So now it's regular work via SMB, and then reconnect via AFP to package.
    Quite annoying, also not sustainable because we don't know when the next update comes that kills AFP entirely. Also, security concerns.
