Would it be possible to have the option to turn this beta feature off?
At the moment it’s proving to be unnecessary for our workflow and is creating a bit of an inconvenience, which is impacting our productivity.
One of the key issues is that the PDF icon appears almost identical to the INDD icon in the INDD <recent> file‑opening panel. In a fast‑paced professional environment, it’s very easy to accidentally open a PDF instead of an INDD file. When this happens, we then have to wait for InDesign to cancel the action, which can slow us down and affect our deadlines.
In most professional workflows, PDFs are final outputs—used to reliably communicate designs across different platforms—not working files like INDD or AI documents. Having them appear in the same way as editable files is causing unnecessary interruptions for our team.
Many thanks, team.
