I've followed steps in other community threads for possible solutions, like this one:
https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign-discussions/indesign-undo-history-clears-itself-without-user-action/m-p/15654540/page/12#M646265
but it's clear that this is a software issue that needs to be fixed by adobe. This is a very difficult problem to work around, and I struggle to understand why this problem hasn't been fixed sooner.
Reverting to previous versions of InDesign should be THE solution for problems like this, only it doesn't seem to be fixing it this time. I'm hearing that InDesign 19.0 may be free of this issue, but I can only go back to version 20.0.
Like many people here, I'm a professional with deadlines. This directly impacts my ability to effectively complete my work. While I adore this software, it's incredibly frustrating to see this seemingly preventable problem happen at a company of this scale. Please either fix this issue or make older versions of InDesign available!
