    This is a basic feature that has been neglected for far too long. Affinity Designer has this. Please add to InDesign so I don't have to switch

    Yes. It should be set by paragraph, customizable by character, and support left- and right-hand treatment. Both Quark Express and Affinity have these features.

    I have been waiting 15 years for this feature!
