    The issue has been fixed in the latest release of InDesign – InDesign 2021.
    Please update to this new version of InDesign to get the fix.

    Most of the time I can not use shortcuts when I opened a new document. For example, quickly opening and saving or exporting the file immediately. I have to use a tool first, select an object, click into text, or perform any other attempt of making changes to the document before shortcuts work. This breaks my workflow.
