    It looks like you may be trying to open files that are shown on the Start screen but are unable to do so.

    Please check that the file(s) actually exist at the same location as when they were previously opened/created. If they have been deleted/moved/renamed, etc., the Start screen will continue to show their thumbnails but you won’t be able to open them.

    Let us know if this is not the case.

    I have the same issue ..
    other CS programs do not have the issue .. and have checked and rechecked all permissions in System Prefs, file info ..

    - File EXISTS, Permissions all GRANTED, and NOT in use by any other App .. and NO other reason for it not to work ..
    The files open as normal, when opened from the finder - just the dialog /recent files from within the program do not work.
