    The issue has been fixed in the latest release of InDesign – InDesign 2021.
    Please update to this new version of InDesign to get the fix.

    We found the source of the problem, apparently InDesign does not handle the otf font that was used correctly (eventhough Acrobat pro finds no problem in Print preflight).
    We now worked around the problem by replacing the font with a TTF font.
