How to turnoff Type contextual controls in Indesign CC 2018?

    In InDesign 2023 (18.5.0)
    The issue still hasn't been resolved.
    This problem initially arose in CC2014 (10), and by that time, the defect was already present.

    app.typeContextualUiPrefs.showFractionsUi = true;
    --> The check box is switched on. This is correct.

    app.typeContextualUiPrefs.showFractionsUi = false;
    --> The check box is switched on. This is incorrect.

    Still an issue with InDesign CC 2019 version 14.0.3.
    Also an issue with InDesign 2020 version 15.0.0.155.

    I can apply true to app.typeContextualUiPrefs.showFractionsUi after I turned off the feature in the UI.
    The UI is reflecting this! Setting back the property with false will not work!
