    Actually it doesn't look like it is the 3rd party apps causing the problem.

    Go to Preferences > Clipboard Handling and deselect 'Copy PDF to Clipboard' and this seems to stop the crashes and allow you to continue using the 3rd party apps.

    Yes I am using Keyboard Maestro.

    Seems to have been reported here 2 years ago as well - https://forum.keyboardmaestro.com/t/km-causes-adobe-indesign-to-crash-when-copying/5183/4

    Note - it doesn't crash for me if I select auto-expand height.

    InDesign 13.0.1
    MacOS 10.13.2

    - New document
    - Create text box
    - Put any text in text box
    - Go to Object > Text Frame Options...
    - Choose 'Auto-size', 'Width only' (or others below but not 'Height only')
    - Try to copy the text box
    Crashes InDesign
