Thank you all for the votes.

Can you help us understand the key problems that you face in the absence of ability to send an anchored image backwards?

What’s the current workaround that you have to follow?

What are the use cases wherein you need that the text appears specifically on top of inline anchored image?

This information will help us evaluate the functionality better.

I would argue that in most cases it should be the default to have the image appear behind the text. An anchored object is often crucial in running text to be able to move along with the heading it it attached. If we have a little graphic attached to a tip in running text, it's difficult to have the object grouped to the text box (the current work-around) in order for it to be positioned behind the text box. Ideally, we can anchor the graphic so if the text is adjusted by a line or two it will move with it, and not obscure the text in which it is attached. Another work around is to keep the graphic inline and adjust the text (often with a negative number so we can create the overlap) but this does not allow for the graphic to be outside the confines of the text box itself.
