Probably talking to an adobe wall here, but... What about using modifier keys? It seems like only Option/Alt does anything in the Tabs window. Command/Control and Shift could be employed in the Tabs window, sort of similar to the Pen tool setup: Ctrl/Cmd-clicking in the Tabs ruler window would only modify existing tabs. Shift-click could only add tabs at certain increments (only multiples of 3 or 6 points, eighths or sixteenths of an inch, or 5 or 10 pixels).

I concur. Why on earth does this have to be a script? WordPerfect 2004 (and probably much earlier versions) has this. I would suggest it be optional, either as a preference or in a dialog, because InDesign shouldn't be making decisions for the user.

Hard to understand why this is not an option, when other case styles are available. Would certainly help me use InDesign efficiently.
