    I'm on the 2025 version 20.0 and am having the same thing happen.

    I can't even delete the old TOC in order to make it go away.

    Very annoying.

    I mean, I can just move it over into the non-printing space and build a new one, but yeah. It's a struggle that it's crashing every time I either try to Update the TOC or Delete it.
