    I am having the same issue.
    However, there seems to be an odd workaround-

    -If I (on macbook) open indesign without external monitors, the GPU support is enabled. This resolves the issue, even when later connecting external (non-HiDPI) monitors and closing the macbook.

    Perhaps there could be an option to force GPU support until a neater solution can be found?
