    Dave Schneider's recommendation of disabling the ruler worked for me as well

    PLEASE FIX!!!!

    None of these solutions suggested work for me on M1 Max (I do appreciate Joe's approach though). The flashing is just too much. We need a fix. For it to have been going on this long without an update is ridiculous.
