  1. Media Panel is missing all playback settings for MP4 files in InDesign 2020

CC 2020 is missing all its control settings for playing MP4 files in an interactive pdf. Until this year's upgrade you had multiple options on what Controller Functions appeared when playing/displaying MP4's in an Interactive PDF document.

Navigation Points have been re-introduced in the Media panel. This feature is available in the latest Pre-Release build of InDesign. Please use this build to use Navigation Points for Video/Audio files.
However, Controller options are not available. As communicated earlier, all options (Controller options being one of them) related to Flash/Flash player have been removed from InDesign.

  2. Better rounded corner options

It would be great if InDesign could do what HTML / CSS can do with respect to rounding corners:

    1) Allow an object to be completely rounded — a 1" square w/ .5" rounded corners should look like a circle (see attachment). (Referred to here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/InDesign/Incompletely-rounded-corners-in-InDesign/m-p/10659192)
    2) (this is secondary, but would be cool) Allow an object's rounding to be percentage-based, so a 2x1 rectangle w/ 50% rounded corners would look like an oval.

The first is the most useful — being able to have live type inside a pill shape is fairly valuable in all sorts of cases.

  3. Just change one word in the preferences of German InDesign!

The German word "Textumfluss" is used two times in InDesign but with different meanings:

Within the preferences "Smart Text Reflow" is "Intelligenter Textumfluss".
And then there ist the "Text Wrap" panel, which is named "Textumfluss" in German, too.

So "wrap" gets the same translation as "reflow"? Noooooo! These are two different thing and should not be named the same!

A better translation for reflow would be "Textumbruch", so please change just one word in the German preferences, from "Intelligenter Textumfluss" to "Intelligenter Textumbruch".

It's easy to do: just five letters to change! One small piece of code. Done in a…

  4. Add Endnote Support for InCopy

Please add endnote support for Adobe InCopy. Without it, InCopy sadly is pretty much useless.
InDesign Footnotes are too inflexible and working with manual Footnotes is not really feasible in larger documents.

  5. Locate where a specific colour is used in your document

It would be really useful to be able to find exactly where a colour is used in a document. When you get a document from a third party and there are extra colours in it that you are trying to eliminate it is sometimes very difficult to track them down.

You can convert the colour to a spot colour then turn on separations and do a visual check but, apart from being time consuming and relying on it being large enough to be easily spotted, it won't help if the colour has been defined as part of a style.

  6. Tabbing Order when creating a new document

When tabbing on NEW DOCUMENT, the tab order goes from Width - Units - Height. It should go from Width - Height - Units. Illustrator does this correctly, Indesign has them in different (and distracting) order. Consistent between apps would be helpful!

  7. PLEASE!!!! The most powerful design app in the world, and after all these years STILL no HSB in the color picker.

Hue, saturation and value are by far the best ways to create and use color, in nearly anything. All of the other color selections/spaces (CMYK, RGB, LAB, etc) should flow from there, secondarily. Illustrator and Photoshop have always supported HSB(V), and yet as amazing a design tool as InDesign is – it still doesn't. Many of us have been asking for years, and I'm surprised that there aren't more requests ... I think many of us have given up. You can do it, Adobe! You would make a lot of designers very happy, and add a very powerful missing feature…
