    Version: 21.3
Adobe InDesign Latest version (issue also persists in two older versions tested)
OS: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU (6 GB)
    AMD Radeon(TM) Graphics (496 MB)
    Windows 11 Home Single Language

    Steps to Reproduce
    Launch Adobe InDesign.
    Observe the startup/home screen behavior.
Attempt to create a new document using File → New Document.
Attempt to create a document using “Legacy New Document.”
Toggle the “Show Home Screen When No Documents Are Open” setting and relaunch InDesign.
    Expected Result
The normal InDesign home screen should load, displaying recent documents and the standard startup interface.
Creating a new document should open a new document window normally.
    Actual Result
The InDesign home screen does not load properly. The usual interface showing recent files and startup options is missing or stuck.
Creating a new document from File → New Document does not open any document window.
Using “Legacy New Document” occasionally responds, but the document still fails to open properly.
    Troubleshooting Attempted
Installed the latest version of InDesign.
Tested with two older versions of InDesign.
Deleted temporary files and cache from Roaming and Local AppData InDesign backup folders.
Uninstalled and reinstalled InDesign multiple times.
    Restarted the laptop after reinstallations.
Changed the startup setting for launching/not launching the Home Screen.

None of these steps resolved the issue.

    Additional Notes

The issue appears persistent across multiple versions and survives clean reinstalls, suggesting a deeper startup or UI initialization problem.
