I should be able to design something in InDesign, and choose which text boxes I wish to be editable forms using regular acrobat reader, WHILE RETAINING THEIR FORMATTING. Why this is not a feature is beyond me, unless Adobe knows how to do it and has chosen to exclude it for financial or other reasons. Come on, this is clearly something that people need and would greatly benefit from. A client asked me if I could do this for them so they could edit a weekly bulletin or brochure themselves. Once I created the design, they just had a few things they would like to change such as the header and date and so on. I told them absolutely, because I was convinced this was something that could be done. And now I'm saying that it's not possible and I have to explain to the client why I can't do it.
