I am using a Windows 11 64-bit machine with 2TB of disk, plus 1GB scratch disk, 64GB RAM etc. This has been happening since the upgrade to 18.5. It is ruining my workflow, which has become a workslow, on work to meet a vital customer deadline. I cannot over-emphasize how vital it is for you to fix this issue. I have tried on a different machine, using the same spec and the issue persists. I have also tried working locally instead of on Dropbox and the issue persists. It is the same using InDesign Beta and the issue persists. I have also tried all the various recommended fixes including changing the Windows Explorer view. I thought maybe it was because I had worked on a file across editions of InDesign but nope, it's not that: I created a new native InDesign file and the Read Only issue started happening within 10 seconds. Please reach out and help me ASAP.
AFAIK this issue is nothing to do with Sophos. I use Windows Defender and don't have any fancy plugins.
