   This happens in my InDesign book documents sometimes, but if I synchronize the files, the index entries reappear.

   YES. This is SO ANNOYING when indexing.

   Ex.
   Sorting this list: Bee Pasture, Beekeeping Books, Bee City

   Becomes:
   Bee City
   Beekeeping Books
   Bee Pasture

   I suppose the program is skipping over the spaces and reads each as:

   Beecity
   BeekeepingBooks
   BeePasture
