Can we get SVG export back?
This feature was removed way back in CS4, but it is something that would greatly simplify my workflow. We often need to get graphics out of InDesign and into PowerPoint. For now, the easiest method is exporting a PNG, but that's a bitmap, not editable, and only scalable to a certain point unless you pump up the DPI. The other option is to force it through Illustrator. Either by manually copying to Illustrator, then saving an SVG from there or by using a script that does that for you. Either way, the additional steps seem unnecessary, as InDesign was once…

InDesign Beta: when it updates, it makes itself the "default" INDD app (in Windows)
Is there any way to keep the Beta version of InDesign from assigning itself as the "default" app when it updates? I have had to uninstall it because it keeps taking over and I only want it around as a "test" platform, not as a production app. And it's frustrating to have to keep fixing that. This doesn't seem to be happening with Illustrator or Photoshop, just InDesign.

Tidy up the check document feature
Check Document told me that saying one, two, three...nine, ten, 11, 12, 13 was inconsistent. It's not. It's correct English.
Check Document also returned 41 grammatical errors. Only one was correct (and it would have been acceptable if I'd left it), and 40 were wrong. I'm a writer, and Grammarly also checked my text.

[ID-4289694] AI Assistant: Please correct UI inconsistency
The AI Assistant Panel uses a different placement of already established UI elements. Users will be irritated by that. Please adhere to the UI language that has already been established in InDesign for decades:
• The Panel flyout menu is always in the darker gray area (see comparison screenshot)
• Buttons for actions are always at the bottom of the panel.3 votesHi,
Thank you for reporting the issue. It is currently under investigation.

[ID-4289690]Add controls to increase and decrease AI Assistant chat type size
The text size in the chat of the AI Assistant Window is quite small. Controls to make the font size bigger and smaller would be very helpful for users.

Redefine workspace
I would like to be able to redefine a workspace that has already been created, as you can with paragraph, character, and object styles. For instance, I created a Workspace and then decided I would like the pages to be viewed horizontally instead of vertically. I would like to be able to change the view on my pages tab, and then go up to the workspace and instead of only having "Reset Workspace" as an option, be able to "Redefine Workspace" to incorporate the new pages view that was changed.

cursor disappeared, can't click button.
When I used the AI Help, it popped up a modal box about not using my content for training.
But the mouse cursor was hidden, and I had a difficult time clicking the OK to get rid of it! Pressing ENTER did not work.1 vote -

IC on the web: unable to zoom in Focus mode
Zoom controls in InCopy on the web do not work.
As an copy editor, I will want to go to focus mode—for the purpose of focusing only on the copy so that I can edit it. And being able to see the text at a comfortable size will be important.2 votes -
Let me turn off the lengthen/shorten AI menu options
InDesign 2026 290d2bf.
While in an empty cell of a table's header row, I right-clicked and accidentally selected "Lengthen". While your useless AI was doing whatever it was trying to do, I could not stop it. I let the progress indicator finish, let it set for a minute after than, and finally had to force-quit InDesign.
I am 99% certain I will never use the shorten or lengthen features found there, so please let me just get rid of them.

The following error appears (please find screenshot attached). Will this be sorted out shortly? I rely heavy on using CC Libraries assets for my layouts, Thanks.

[ID-4275394][Bug] Share for review updating issue (There Was an Error Updating the Artifact) with hint to solution
In addition to https://community.adobe.com/questions-671/persistent-error-in-adobe-indesign-there-was-an-error-updating-the-artifact-887573 i'd like to mention the bug here too, as it is present in the current beta as well.
I've investigated the "there was an error updating the artifact"-error arising since 2026 versions of InDesign. It's a reproducible issue (tested on different machines) depending on the complexity of linked files and a certain quantity of elements/pixels/rendered areas.
I investigated the issue and identified the lowest common denominator — it was reproducible across multiple systems, tested in both InDesign 21.2 x64 and InDesign 21.3 x64 Beta. To set up the test, I only needed 1 PDF and 1…

Images Bugs Indesign 2026 (both stable and beta)
After inserting some images (like the 3rd on 4th), the mouse pointer of my windows turning into thinking blue circle, like Indesing is makeing a process, and stick to that mouse pointer. I can make click, select, even with that cursor. and Indesign behave weird. I have to force it to close down, and it remains in memory even when I close it. I have to close the process in task windows. But when I Open a Indesign,a nd start the adding images again, it happens again. It's ANOING. Neven happened before. it hase like 2 weeks happening.
