We are also working with a lot of files and with the book funktion. Every big InDesign update produces so many extra work. The needed time to update (open and save) all files is disproportionate high.
By the way, I think that the complete book funktion needs a update.
It works very slow and it brakes the computer. While creating a pdf of the book (including 100 files or more) it is not possible to work effective with an other software. InDesign opens every file in the background and this takes a lot of time and performance.
