    I have the same issue as reported below on 12/12/2018, but also when using cmd+o to Open. Once I have used File>Open after launching ID, the keyboard shortcut begins to work.

    "I have the same issue. Upon opening InDesign 14 on iMac, High Sierra, the cmd+n keyboard command does not work. Once I go to File/New/Document to successfully create a new document, the keyboard command starts to work and continues working without a restart. But it does this every time I start InDesign."
