    4 years on, and no real hint that this will ever happen.

    There are LOTS of open source tools to model LaTeX with, and even a readily-available design spec for things like mathematical outputs.

    There are a couple of online tools that generate images from LaTeX (.png and .jpg) but that's really adding an extra 5-6 steps that could be bypassed if we had this.
