    I'm having this exact issue.

    In short:
When I hover over a text box with my “type” cursor I am unable to select the text. Generally the way this works is you “click” and select the text or you “click” and drag your cursor over the text to select multiple lines or paragraphs etc. From there you are able to edit the text and apply styling/changes. Currently the type tool is not functioning, it recognizes the “text box” but does not allow for the aforementioned process.

The work around is to select the “text box” – then use “story-editor” which then I have to close story-editor THEN I am able to hover over the text box and select the text. However, as soon as I exit the text box, I have to go through this process again, for every single text box in the design file.

This issue is extremely time consuming and a detriment to our teams productivity. I think Adobe needs to be notified and a solution ought to be expedited. Steps taken to remedy the issue were: Creating a new document to rule out an isolated incident. Indesign has been uninstalled then re-installed, however the problem persists.
