Various improvements needed for InCopy for the Web to be utilized
Allow other browsers, especially Edge, to use it. Right now it's restricted to Chrome.
Include Slug and Pasteboard Areas
Our teams rely heavily on slug information (e.g., version labels, notes, file identifiers). Currently, the slug area doesn’t display in InCopy for the Web — only the live component does.
Although I can technically click into the hidden slug text boxes and type (revealing text afterward), using Focus Mode in that area triggers an error and reloads the document.
Visibility and editability of the slug area are essential for version tracking and production accuracy.
Add a Visible Pasteboard Area
We use the pasteboard to include writer-to-designer notes about layout adjustments, text box additions, or design tweaks (e.g., color, spacing).
Even basic pasteboard visibility — without full editing tools — would improve collaboration and maintain parity with desktop workflows.
Improve Navigation and Zoom Controls
The current zoom behavior feels unpredictable, and mouse-wheel scrolling is often jumpy.
Adding a scroll bar and smoother zoom controls would help users navigate longer text components.
Expand Text Styling Options
Underline is a core editorial function missing from the web version. Please add underline formatting alongside bold and italic for parity with print workflows.
Enable Drag/Hand Navigation
A hand icon tool to drag the view around (similar to Workfront Proof) would make navigation easier, especially on larger layouts or when zoomed in.
Deeper integration or functional consistency with Workfront Proof would enhance collaboration and reduce context switching.
