Alert is shown on opening documents in InDesign(v19.4.0.63) - "This file is already open by another user or another application."
After updating InDesign to V19.4, I'm now locked out of many of my previous design files. I'm receiving the error, "This file is already open by another user or another application. This file may be stored on a network server and cannot be opened until the other user closes it."
I reinstalled V19.3 and can now access these old files but I would prefer to use the most up to date version if possible. happy to provide a sample if needed.
Hi,
The issue is currently under investigation.

Is there any progress with fixing this issue with Adobe Libraries links. It has devastated our Studio's workflow.

This is a major disruption and I'm finding that reverting to v19.3 also doesn't solve the problem. It may be unrelated but after installing 19.3, I'm seeing a 'build expired' error (likely licensing-related). In any case, I'm trying to add my voice to this issue.

I'm having the same issue. I'm running 19.4 on Windows 10.
Thus far it's older InDesign files (a year or more and have [converted] appended to the filename) that I'm getting into and modifying as it's a new year, so they need updated.
The other commonality of the ones that have done it thus far is they have CC Library items linked. The library assets in the layers panel says <pasted graphic>, and the links panel says "Adobe PDF" instead of the asset name.
When I relink the library assets, which is manual and a lot of guess work, the pop-up mostly has gone away. I've been able to recover two documents by relinking. The second document I've tried this with now only shows the pop-up on open and close as well as somewhat intermittently. I'm going to try and relink everything to see if that fixes the remaining issue, but it's at least editable without the pop-up continually happening almost nonstop.

This bug has created a lot of havoc and I had to uninstall the current InDesign and reinstall 19.3 just so I could work.

Is there any resolution to this? It makes the design files completely unusable.

Same for us. Any users who upgraded to InDesign 19.4 or the current Beta were impacted. They were able to open the file for a moment, but then get a pop-up error that reads: "Either the file does not exist, you do not have permission, or the file may be in use by another application."
Rolling back to 19.3 solved the issue for us, for now.

"Either the file does not exist, you do not have permission, or the file may be in use by another application."
Mathmagic gives such an error when saving the file.
I cannot transfer the equation I created with Mathmagic into InDesign into a document.
An urgent solution is needed.
