Thanks for making this request. In order to understand the use-case more better I have a few questions:
1. Whats the role of the different people working collaboratively on the same file. Are they always only designers or are other personas also involved.
2. What is the use-case here, some parts of this request suggest an Editorial collaboration whereas others suggest collaboration amongst different designers. I am trying to separate these 2 requests out.
3. What are the different kind of files (brochures, books, magazines etc) for which this is required.
4. Does it need to be a web based service, or having the user be able to collaborate on one shared file using InDesign or InCopy on the Desktop will work? What is the advantage you feel over a web-service over the desktop app?
5. How do you workaround this need today? What are the most important problems with…Bastian S. supported this idea ·

Hello Abhinav Kaushik,
I just got the Update to CC 2020 as a test (not for productive yet) and could play around with the changed - it is working a lot better now than it did before (thanks for that!) buuut i noticed that there still seems to be a little bug - it updates correctly now if text is changed but not if all the text gets removed. It doesn't change till you enter new text.

Yes - i can reproduce this any time in any kind of Textbox - I will create a small Testfile for you later today since this is really important to us and a big issue in DatabasedPublishing when paginating inline - basically it is impossible to work with in its current state.

And while they are at it they should add the option to add the current date as a Text-variable - When ever you forget to save before exporting your PDF - the Date on your PDF is wrong. It's so annoying :/

Not a fix but a workaround: Create a IDML and then try to package it (Make sure to check for changes after the IDML Process) if you just need to gather all the links you can use the Adobe Bridge for that - Right click the indesign file - there should be an entry to show all linked filed somewhere in the context menu - then simply compy and paste them to your Links folder.
Hope someone can help you :)

Yup - DataMerge only works with single pages - that'd be a feature request.

I take that back.. it also does not work for me when the pages are on a different spread.
So from left to right page works great - from one spread to another does not.
Screen recording attached.

Tested on: Indesign 14.0.2 on macOS 10.13.6 (High Sierra)
Working fine - tried copying / dragging several objects and groups between pages. -

Tested - Doesn't seem to work with our System fonts / Installed fonts (list is empty) but with Adobe Fonts it seems to work.

There is a setting for that in the Layers dropdown menu - just change it and it will behave as you described.

When is the real fix for this comming? We are still waiting :(
An error occurred while saving the comment Bastian S. commented
Adobe doesn't learn even whilte they are just getting blown away by other software.. Use the cloud for what you intended it to deliver faster updates - otherwise get rid of it. Adobe what are you doing?
Give us the update like normal programs should get them :| - you even have your own client for that.
Implement a beta / stable channel or idk.. but this is just horrible. It is the same response in every KBDOC fix - in my Company i don't even have the GREP fix yet because they are waiting for a propper update from Adobes side.
- PLEASE DO SOMETHING! - If you care and want people to stay...

Amaarora - please finally start using the cloud for what it was intended - faster delivery of updates and not this nonsense - its kinda like the only feature the cloud is good for and you're not using it for updates. Same problem with the GREP fix :|
Thanks for the fix tho

Someone commented here ( https://forums.adobe.com/message/11108789#11108789 ) that it works on Mac Mojave - can anyone confirm this?

I have tested this in the current version of InDesign (15.0.3.425) and have the same issue - InDesign crashes instantly.
Resizing single Textboxes was fine - till i doubleclicked one of the handles => Instant crash.
See attached Screenrec (Video also shows the version number at the beginning)
