  3. Share for Review breaks when INDD files are duplicated for versioning

Everyone I know who uses InDesign duplicates files regularly to create various versions of documents. Share for Review seems to have a major problem with this. When I create multiple versions of a document by duplicating an original, InDesign cannot seem to differentiate between the various versions, even if they have different names and are completely separate files. The only solution seems to be if you have only one document open at a time and break the link to start over. It's maddening, as I have 9 versions of important documents that I need to share for review, and…

  4. Indesign Review Panel cutting off comments from the web app.

My boss is leaving comments in the web application and it gets cut off in the Review Panel in Indesign. Took me a sec to figure out, ended up signing into the web app to find out it wasnt showing me all they said.

  5. share for review: links not working

I Create a share for review but the links doesn't work after it's been created.

  6. Share for Review (15.1, ie. June 2020) color shift due to corrupt blend mode overlays

I feel like we've seen these kinds of issues before. But I noticed in the new "Share for Review" (InDesign 15.1) colors in a test document are shifting. A quick comparison shows that blend modes aren't been exported properly when sending a document up for "Share for Review."

In the screen shot, you can see what I mean: Top is the Review version as viewed in browser, bottom is the correct version as seen in InDesign. Some of the modes seem ok (Multiply, Normal opacity adjustments). But most blending modes aren’t rendering correctly (Hard and Soft Light look…

  7. InDesign Review feature 'Draw' out of alignment in web vs app

Hello, when i draw an annotation on the InDesign web review feature, it shows up outside of the alignment in the app. This makes the tool unusable for me with clients or as a viable option to suggest to our designers.

    Repro
InDesign 16.1 on MacOS Big Sur 11.2.3 Apple M1 Chip
    create an indesign document
    share it for review
in the web review tool, use the draw tool to make a large drawing
try to preview the draw tool annotation in the InDesign app

  8. Share for Review - Interactive PDF 'Jump to Page' feature not working

    Hey,

I have a contents page in my Interactive PDF, that when you click an item on it, it jumps to the corresponding page in the PDF. However, on the Share to Review site, it jumps to the wrong page - always to the page after the one that it should jump to. When I export the PDF normally, it functions as expected, it is only on the Share to Review site that it doesn't work.

Was wondering if a fix could be found for this, as we are having to explain this to clients every time we send a…

  9. Misplaced pin icons and shapes in Share for Review

Pins or shapes in Share for Review are always shown with misplaced icons or shape "borders". All browsers render it similarly. In Chrome, after reloading and clearing cache through DevTools, pin icons are changed to numbers and shapes disappear (in DevTools there is some error...). Btw, in Opera for Android, there are shown numbers by default. Using InDesign 15.1.1 for Windows, tried different files on laptot/desktop with the same results.

About a week before I used the function for the first time and everything was fine, but I'm not sure if InDesign had the latest update.

    Working example: https://assets.adobe.com/id/urn:aaid:sc:US:f5b91a94-c27e-44bd-9b09-f46e662affc8?view=published

  10. Link Name as Page Title in Share for Review

I have no idea why it isn’t set up this way, as the title of "Link Name" certainly makes it sound like that would be the page title, but instead I find that every single document I share for review has the page title of "Files | Adobe Creative Cloud" which is supper annoying when I have to share a few different proofs in a messaging app. Messaging apps (like Skype) convert the link to a card that features the page title in bold, so I end up with a series of links that all look the exact same, with…

  11. Making edits in Share for Review is painstakingly SLLLLOOOOWWWWWWW!

When I click "Resolved", it seems to me that syncing to web might be making it slow. Maybe don't update to web until you're done making your edits. I'm working on a 500-page book. Everything about InDesign for this book is tremendous. Share for Review is by far the weakest link.

  12. Errors when using the Share for Review feature with highlight, strike-through and replace text.

    I have the InDesign v. 18.0
Everytime I use the Share for Review feature, no matter where I highlight, strike-through or replace the text, the place where I want to make the suggestion is never accurate. If I try to highlight a text, when I see it the InDesign program and click the review in the Review window, it just brings me to a different page. The highlighted text isn't even highlighted at all. Same with strike-through and replace text. Of course, I can see the comment within the Review window, but when I click it, it usually brings up…

  14. 'Share for review' showing name of a previously shared document, hasn't recognised which document to share

    InDesign 16.0
    Mac OS 10.15.7
    Chrome Version 86.0.4240.183

Share for review should respond to whichever tab is in focus

    Steps to recreate.

    1. Have 2 InDesign documents you want to share for review
    2. Open one of the files
    3. Go to share and review, see the filename populated in the panel's field
    4. Create the share
    5. Open the other InDesign document
    6. Go to share and review

Expected: Document that is in focus in the open tab is the file that is being shared

Actual: Previous file's name is still populated. Changing it and sharing creates an error.

    And now this has happened,…

  16. export to pdf destination folder changes after creating "share for review" copy

After creating "share for review" copy, when I try to export to PDF, the "save to" destination folder changes to: C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Adobe\InDesign\Version 16.0-ME\en_US\Caches\Artifact
I guess it's becuase the "share for review" feature creates also a PDF copy of the book. but it's annoying to be forced to navigate again and again to my project's folder.
i'm using the latest version 16.3 (middle east locale). windows 10.

The fix of the issue is now available in the latest InDesign 2022(v17.0.0.96). We recommend you upgrade to the latest version for the fix.

If you are unable to see the update, go to the Creative Cloud application and click on the context menu on the top right and click on Check for App Updates.

  17. Share for Review: there was an error updating the artifact. NOT updating!

    Adobe InDesign CC 2024

I am working a magazine. The size is pretty large, lots of pictures. I was able to create the Share for Review link, and share it. But I am unable to update. Although, I copy the link, open the address in Google Chrome and my edits show. When I mark a pin resolved, it does not show in my indesign file.

  18. InDesign 15.11 - Share for review: LINKS panel does not appear, even when Window shows it is active.

Share for Review only works in Advanced platform, but controls disappear at top. Link window does not appear even when selected. Switched to Book platform and got controls back, but Share for Review comments disappeared.

  19. Share for Review: 404 Error, I'm the owner but receive no access

I have hundreds of share for review links that all don't work anymore, neither for me nor externals. They all end up at 404. When I open the indd, I get the message that I'm not permitted to create or update a review link because I'm not the owner — I am. I've tried logging out and back in but that didn't help. My indesign is fully up to date at version 17.3.

  20. Share for Review - Public Recipients Still Can't Access Without Adobe Account

I'm using InDesign version 17.0.1. Using Share for Review, I was able to chose Public and send invitations. The recipients received the e-mail from Adobe, but if the recipient is on a computer without an Adobe account, when they click the button to access the file, it doesn't open - it will just spin for several minutes then display a File Preview Error . The instructions I have for Share for Review said that choosing Public would allow users without an Adobe account to access the file, but this does not seem to be the case. I first…
