1. Converting text cell to graphic cell

   If you convert a graphic cell to a text cell the vertical justification gets locked, cell appears to be anchored and is unable to be converted back to a graphic cell.

   1) Create table
   2) Select cell > context menu > convert cell to graphic cell
   3) Select cell/object > convert to text cell
   4) Unable to convert back to graphic cell or adjust vertical justification within cell (options greyed out) and anchor symbol on top right of frame

4. mergeRecords() breaks InDesign Server CC 2018

   Reference two forum posts:

   Posting as bug for the following reasons:
   1) Nobody seems to know why it's happening
   2) The script executes successfully with InDesign Desktop, but Server crashes (not just an error, full on stops).
   4) It's the only method that crashes InDesign Server I've found. I'm able to perform frame creation, image placement, find / replace, export PDF, etc... which leads me to conclude it's not an issue with my installation.
   3) Tested on 3 different computers

   The following .jsx will crash InDesign Server (replace paths with any of your own merging document files):

   InDesign Server will crash with the following error from the Server:
   Tue Sep 18 09:48:21 2018 INFO [javascript] Executing Script
   ./InDesignServer: line 13: 30363 Segmentation fault: 11 "$installed_name" "$@"

   The error report from the Terminal window that launched sampleclient responds with:
   Error -1 fault: SOAP-ENV:Client [no subcode]
   "End of file or no input: Operation interrupted or timed out"
   Detail: [no detail]

   The jsx code is checking if all of the files do in fact exist, and it passes those checks. I've since been able to work around this using doc.dataMergeProperties.exportFile(). However I can see this being an issue if instead of a PDF, I needed .INDD files to be created from a merge.

5. change of page dimensions won't resize alternate layout

   We have released an update for InDesign CC2019 (v 14.0.1) which contains fixes for some key issues. If you are not already on 14.0.1 (build 209), then we recommend you to update to latest version.

   • Error snapshot or video recording of the issue.

8. Placed illustrator .ai color dodge layers in Indesign don't display/print correctly

   Placing .ai stock files which have soft 'color dodge' layer highlights display and print as hard masks in Indesign. The solution I've found is re-saving the file as an EPS. Attached is a sample image (.ai on left, .eps on right).

9. text

   I am having text problems when regular text is near an image and the text which is within the boundary box of the image then text prints out bold. It does not appear bold on screen and the font is definetly regular but ive done some test and where the boudnary image box over hangs into text it then prints out bold mid word or wherever the image boudnary box is. This happens on psd images which have been deppetched and have no background.

10. Preferences won't fully show text

11. Menus and dialog boxes are off

    Using Windows 10, menus are off by 1. For example when hovering "Edit" the menu for "File" displays, Layout displays Edit, and so on.

    Also when clicking create new document, the dialog is blown up and does not work other than the "X" to close out.

12. InDesign CS6 Hangs with customized plug-ins

    Hello,
    Our company develops InDesign plug-ins as our product. Now we have a hanging problem when dealing with one InDesign document. The problem happens on both Windows and macOS.
    According to the log collected on Mac, InDesign CS6 hangs at com.adobe.InDesign.Text. We cannot find a way to fix it so far. This problem stopped us to support our customers.

    Could you please have a check why the hanging happens?

    We made a simple document to reproduce the problem. The plug-ins inside "InDesign-CS6-Windows-Plugins" are used to make InDesign CS6 open the document without crash.
    The detail steps are:
    1. On Windows, place "InDesign-CS6-Windows-Plugins" under <Adobe InDesign CS6>/Plug-Ins/
    2. Launch Adobe InDesign CS6 and open document CS6.indd
    3. Click OK to continue if it prompts for missing plug-ins
    4. Navigate to page 1, which contains a large text frame
    5. Using Type tool to put cursor inside the begining of the frame
    6. Click Ctrl+A to select all contents
    7. Try to set the font size (or set font name) on menu bar.
    8. InDesign hangs.

    The attached zip file contains the plug-ins, indd file and log files.

14. Can not make a single change to the paragraph style options

    I can not make a single change to the paragraph style options or character style options. The only change it allows me to make is the font family only ONCE. This has been going on for about 2 months and can not fix it. PLEASE HELP. I can't set up a single style. It's Driving me NUTS.

15. Clippingpath inset

    I don't really know if its a bug or a feature:

    If I set an inset for a clippingpath (made in Photoshop) by for example 3mm, it sets the inset based on the scaling of the image. Means: if my image is scaled by 50% the inset will only be 1,5mm. As I have a document with multiple scale ratios it is not possible to maintain a coherent inset amount.

    I use the clipping-path frame to generate a cutting contours for stickers which all have to have a specific inset to avoid "blank streaks".

16. Cannot mirror a footer

    I am taking an InDesign class and in one of the steps in the book it says, Use the selection tool, select the footer, hold down the Alt key, and drag the text frame to the right master page so that it snaps to the guides, mirroring the left master page.

    I have NO finger dexterity so cannot hold down multiple buttons is there a way to do the above without holding down the keys?

    Activating a font or fonts while InDesign CC2018 is running results in frustrating beachballs until you restart InDesign. Also do not open your pages panel because it will cost you 5 min. of your life untli ID responds again.

18. Text wrap on anchored frame causes InDesign to freeze

    1. InDesign CC 2018 13.1 on macOS 10.13.6
    2. When placing an object in a text frame, thus creating an anchored object, and then applying to the latter a text wrap method that is different from default (none), either via application ui, script or object style;
    3. Expected to apply the wanted text wrap option;
    4. Application freezes.

    To identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. You might have also received email from us seeking more details to help in our investigation.

    We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding : Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.

    We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2020.0.1 (if you’re not already on it). It contains a lot of stability fixes.

    If you still face this issue even after updating to the latest version of InDesign, please submit the crash report to us. (The guidelines to submit crash are available at (https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/submit-crash-reports.html)

19. Tagged Text file import randomly places URLs throughout text

    I can't import an InDesign Tagged Text file without getting randomly inserted footnote URLs placed throughout the text and all footnote links being broken.

    Since I'm working on a book and have hundreds of footnotes, I thought AITT would be my best option for backing up and recovering chapter text.

20. Text Wrap is no longer available or working on our IMacs. Please help!
