display guides distorting
When I add objects to a page the guides are distorting, if I set guides to the back in preferences the problem stops.
I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling indesign and updating my graphics driver with no luck

AppleGothic font is not displaying all characters correctly. The accented characters sometimes do not display in Indesign although they work
When using AppleGothic, some accented characters that work ok in MS WOrd do not display in Indesign
eg Yọ awọn ti ń ṣegbe

black background on pictures with GPU accelaration ON
With GPU Performance ON i have a black background on certain zoom in or out with some linked pictures or PDFs. With Both 2021 and 2022 versions. Pictures attached.

place file missing
I'm making a booklet identifying all 200 products for a client. I had been attempting to import 3-7 pdfs using the place function at a time. Show Import Options is on. Often one or two files will appear in the links list as if they were coming in with the others, but do not come up in the placing. They are in the links panel with no page number and no pasteboard indication. If I go back and place an item that has done this individually it will work. wacom display
I just upgraded to a Wacom 32 tablet and am having this problem only in Indesign. There are random little grey squares all over the page - and not just the file window but the entire "artboard" area. Other apps are not doing this. I've tried zooming in and out, display quality settings, nothing has helped. And it's not an image issue - it's basically a display issue. I have no idea how to fix this and I'm almost rendered unable to do at least 50% of my job as I'm not just an illustrator but a designer too. The…

Paste Discretionary Line Break Malfunction
The discretionary break character is an awesome addition. But I think it came with a bug:
When typesetting text that contains URLs, I use a GREP search to find all URL strings in order to globally apply a character style with Language set to [No Language] in order to suppress any auto-hyphenation.
I then use some search-replaces to globally insert discretionary breaks in places I don't mind URLs breaking, such as preceding periods and hard hyphens. This technique can still leave too-loose or too-tight letter-spacing when URLs contain long unbroken letter strings, and in those cases I insert discretionary line…

recent files
Recently opened files are not shown on the home page after opening InDesign. The item in menu is also gone, so I cannot access them from the menu anymore. I tried to change the settings in Preferences > File handling, but the option to changed the number of files I would like to see in recent files is greyed out, so I can't change it.

Cannot create the link resource from the given URI
On a brand new Mac running OS 12.0.1 (Monterey). Restored from a Time Machine backup and didn't have this issue before. I use Bridge to select and insert images into InDesign picture boxes by selecting the image, right-clicking and selecting "Place" then "In InDesign" and the image has always been properly placed. However, since upgrading to the new OS, when I select and try to place, I get this error:

saving documents on a mac pro OS 11.6.1 using the latest Indesign version, the save or export box flashes onscreen then vanishes
Using Indesign 2021, V 16.4 on a mac pro with OS Big Sur, 11.6, when I try to export to PDF or save a document, the save box flashes, flickers onscreen then vanishes before I can save. After many many attempts sometimes I'm able to save or export. Frustrating, and for the cost, Indesign should not be doing this.

Save-as – file name not default text field for saving files – 17.0.1
In previous versions, save-as brought up a dialogue where I could start typing or changing the file name right away. Now, I either need to actually click on the file name or press tab three times to get there.
As someone who uses keyboard commands for speed and efficiency, this is annoying. The older version was faster and better. If you could fix this, I'd appreciate it.

Dreamweaver and Indesign allocating all available memory
I have an M1 iMac (8gb ram and 256 SSD) no matter how small or big the project I'm working on is, after about 10mins it takes over 90% of all available memory! Although I have adjusted to saving and quitting after every 10mins, I would love for this not to be an issue in the first place.
Details: I open the application to work on school projects. Some projects as small as 1 spread and only text (no images) and some over 10 pages with many images. The bigger projects cap out memory around the same time as the…

Saving a document
There's a strange problem when I try to save a document in InDesign. It doesn't happen every time but it's reoccuring and quite annoying. When I try to type something in the "save as" field, all the characters change as if Cthulhu has taken over the system. The only way to be able to save is to cancel and try again until it doesn't happen. This problem has only occured in the Adobe Indesign 2021 version.

Unable to place text in frame over an existing text frame
When making a new frame on top of an existing text frame. It is not possible to make the new frame a text frame. It clicks right through it.
This has been a bug for many years now, and i have to explain almost every week to my students.Also in the 2022 version of InDesign.

Mac, system Big Sur 11.6.1There are no steps or expected results other than stability and quick performance.
No matter what I am doing—working with text or images, scrolling, working in menus, etc.—I am experiencing the rainbow pinwheel and delays of 30 seconds to a few minutes while the application is hung up. This is happening every couple minutes. Work that should take 15 minutes is taking 30 or more.

Large Black Cursor only while working in inDesign?
The cursor is still not my default cursor, it is large and black and very annoying. I was wondering if anyone from Adobe has addressed this issue. I have looked at previous post and have not noticed anything that would change the cursor but only change the scaling of the entire program.

Cannot rename Alternate Layouts while Pages Panel is docked to another panel. It works fine if free floating

Find/change 15.1.3, Windows 10
Find/change does not work when a character style (e.g. italic) is selected.
Have closed program and started it again, and it works for words selected, but could not get it to find this question mark character ?, nor would it change format of a word to italics when this was selected under the Find Format and/or Change Format boxes. Following this I also found it would not find a selected word with no formatting changes requested.1 vote -
