Removable Device Warning
I have been working with InDesign for many years and have learned to store my files on a removable device. This is because I have found them to be more stable than my computer and if the computer goes down, the data is fine. Now, I find myself getting a constant message telling me that I should not do this (which is Adobe's opinion and they are entitled to it) with a check box for me to select if I don't want to receive these messages again. will not open
indesign will not open documents when I open the program. It shows open but not tabs or home page and will not open any documents. Ive restarted my computer and uninstalled/reinstalled the program and the issue is still happening.

Severe performance issues
Using Version 14.0.3 on a MacBook Pro. Every time I try to switch from one object to another the program gives me a spinning wheel of death for about a minute (sometimes more...sometimes I have to force quit/restart). I've even tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app completely. This happens regardless of the document that I have open, even just a text document with no images, etc. There is no crash, the program just freezes entirely.

can't close file
Running InDesign CC 17 (12.1.0.56). Having to quit app every time I want to close a file. When trying to close file, application frame remains, but I can not close it or minimize it, or open other files. Am quitting app every time I need to open a new file.

Cannot save under a new name error code 1, network share, InDesign 2019
When I am trying to save InDesign document to a network share using Save As or using Save a Copy, InDesign comes up with an error message saying 'Cannot save, file is damaged, error code 1'.

New document dialog is extremly slow
If I want to create a new document the dialog news at least 10 sec to open. After that I can set my defaults but when I click the »create«-button it takes another 10 to 20 sec until the new document is created. The fans are blowing like ****.

InDesign 14.0.2 constant spinning beachball - especially on text related commands
Working in InDesign 14.0.2 on High Sierra, (single computer home network) the programme is exceptionally slow - taking about 10 seconds (of beachballing) to select a line of copy. Clicking between objects takes 5-10 seconds also. This is happening on my Mac Book Pro and iMac, both running High Sierra - all other programmes are working normally. I have tried trashing my preferences and uninstalling etc, but nothing has improved the lagging issue. I have had to revert to the 2018 version to get my work done.

Can't scroll Pages Window when Export dialogue box is up
When exporting certain pages from a large document it was handy being able to scroll through the pages window while the export dialogue was open. This was possible on pre CC indesign copies.

Resized vectors not displaying properly in high quality display mode on drag
14.0.2 x64 on Windows 10
Steps:
1. High Quality display mode (default settings)
2. Place any EPS vector file.
3. Attempt to resize it while holding ctrl-shift to maintain ratios.Expected result:

Grey box. I have to zoom in or out to get the screen to "refresh" and show the correct image.Similar issue happens with placed AI file. Very simple, clearly. Just a triangle. Made in the latest version of Illustrator.

I have Adobe InDesign 14.0.2 x64, and my book chapters keep showing a spinning wheel when i try to make any change. Say I need to add one letter, after doing so the ball has to spin 10 times until i can do anything else. This is extremely time consuming and is wasting my time when I have to wait 2 minutes after any tiny change before I can make another. I have seen others posting issues about this over a year ago. All fixes people have suggested do nothing for me. Please help.

Indd file size optimization
The filesize of the .indd file increases with every new linked image and is not reset after deleting old images from the workspace.
If you use the save as function and overwrite the file, the size of the .indd file is much smaller (like 190 MB before and 12 MB after).InDesign should clean up the file with every normal saving process !

Workspace not loading correctly
I use multiple screens on my Mac running 10.13.6 OS.
I continually loose one of my palette sets from view. When I load my custom workplace the character \ paragraph / etc appear as I have saved them, but this randomly disappears - if I go to window and select character the spinning wheel tales 10 - 15 seconds to load up the pallet again and all is Ok for a while, then it disappears again - Tried saving a new workspace many times but always same thin happens - this is only happening after the last update.

CC Libraries fail to load or connect during launch even when CC is running in the background
CC Library associated link resource images causes error messages during launch of program or file even when CC is running in the background.

Smart folder (Mac) not showing items
When trying to place a file with "File/Place", smart folders in the file browser do not load any items to select from. Same also with image relinks.

InDesign totally unusable for large threaded tables after 2015 version
Using Windows 10 Pro, high end computer (Ryzen 1800X, 32Gb RAM, NVMe SSD, 1080Ti)
Create an Excel file with 8000 rows of random data, place into InDesign with as unformatted table.
Use shift-click to create pages and thread the table to each page.
Try to scroll without InDesign freezing for 30 seconds. I can't.
I have tried:
- Cleaning preferences / logging on different username to have a fresh profile
- Using a different computer
- Turning off preflight
- Using fast display performance
- Change the composer away from world ready, trying single line instead of paragraph

Type Tool Flicker
Specs:
InDesign CC2018 (13.1)
Mac Pro Late 2013
Mac OS Mojave (10.14.3)
64 GB RAM
AMD FirePro D300 2048 MB
Any document when first opened will blink the document window (not the entire screen - just the document) when clicking into a frame with the Type tool.
It occurs one time only then the remainder of work on that document is fine.
Open another document, issue reoccurs.
Double-clicking a text frame with the Selection tool will not blink and take you into the text frame without issue.
I've reset ID Prefs, removed all third party plugins and zapped my PRAM…

Menu Items Opens Webpage to Buy InDesign

Multiple clicks on menu items with the same results.
When clicking on menu items the menu item should appear.
When clicking on Type>Tabs, About InDesign opens a webpage (see attached) to buy Indesign. Each menu item goes to the same webpage. First time I have had this happen.2 votes -
Placed Illustrator files do not show transparency correctly on GPU Preview
When placing an .ai file with transparency, the file renders without any alpha channel at all in GPU Preview. Switch to CPU Preview, and the .ai files render correctly. Transparency should be shown in both modes, right?

Updating to Mac OSX Mojave, Indesign now behaving slow and shortcut make new document does not work anymore
Drawing a box, moving it around etc is now a kind of laggy. Moves but slow and kind of stuttering.
The GUI overall, menus etc, behaves a bit slower as well. Not much but not as quick and responsive at it was in Sierra.
Have tried de-activating GPU but that has no difference at all.
I have the latest version, 14.0.2.
Updated to Mojave because the Adobe chat support suggested that would help out some other issues I have had.

InDesign opens two files when only one selected.
When I open a file, InDesign will open another file at the same time, one that I didn't select. Not a horrible inconvenience, but why is this happening?
