Edit Original no longer automatically updates the placed file
- 18.2.1 x64 on Windows 10 Pro
- Using the Place command, place a PDF form in my InDesign document. Open the links panel, select that link, and choose the Edit Original icon. Once the PDF is opened in Acrobat, make the change to the form, save and close the PDF. Go back to InDesign
- In the past, when I made edits to a PDF using the Edit Original option, once I saved and closed the PDF in Acrobat, the link would be automatically updated in InDesign (which makes sense, as why would I open a file through the Edit Original link in InDesign, unless I wanted to update the linked document?)
- Now, when I follow the process above, and then return to InDesign, the link shows as Modified, and I need to manually choose the Update Link icon at the bottom of the Links window
