Proportional Scaling Using Shift Button Not Working
In the 2017.1 release of InDesign, the ability to hold Shift and scale objects proportionally seems to have disappeared. I know for me this is a major functionality problem that is increasing the time I have to spend on current projects. I've checked support forums and others are encountering this problem, but I haven't yet seen a solution.
Thank you for your patience all this while; we really appreciate your support!
Our investigation suggests that one of common reasons for the problem is that certain software (mostly antivirus and other security applications) and browser extensions happen to enable “Secure Keyboard Entry” on Mac machines due to which some keys such as Shift key in this case do not perform the desired action in InDesign.
For now I request you to follow the below provided KB doc for the quick workaround of the problem.
In the comments section many of the users have confirmed that disabling Webroot SecureAnywhere (a security app) has resolved the issue for them. Please note that, the problem may not be related to a particular software; there could be a different application or antivirus which might be causing the problem by enabling Secure Keyboard Entry on Mac.

Just about everything that can be scaled using shift isn't responding--shapes, frames, placed photos, etc. I've also noticed that the shift function that makes lines snap to flat horizontal or straight vertical angles isn't working either. Basically, everything that should respond to that shift function isn't responding at all.

Nevermind. It's working now...magically.
Reporting same problem here: on MacOS High Sierra

I've noticed this bug, but quitting inDesign and restarting OS fixes for me.

Exact same problem here. Very annoying and it's taking me an incredible amount of time to make small changes now. Please fix!!
I have this problem too
The AltGr+letter shortcuts are used for typing Polish letters and AltGr+N doesn't work. Even if I delete the shortcut from the default shortcut set (New Default Document) I cannot use it to type Polish letter 'ń'.
The same shortcut works fine with all other Adobe applications.
Please keep in mind that there are some keyboard layouts which use special shortcuts for typing special characters and this shoortcuts should not be used in ID.
I am work in Indesign CC 2017 and After selecting a tool transformation, hold down the mouse button Option (Mac OS) and drag. Press Shift to constrain the shift to more than 45 ° do not working
