2. Vector graphics distorted and broken - Cause unkown

   I don't know what prior action or command let to this bug but almost all my Vector graphics were suddenly distorted and broken. Some Small circles changed size and I couldn't scale in down anymore. See pictures. Exportet pdf files show the same distorted graphics.

   Adobe Indesign 2025 on a MacBook Pro 2021, Apple M1 Pro, 16 GB macOS Sonoma 14.1.2.

3. Copying text frames results in pasted PDF

   Copying text frames from older versions of InDesign (example 2022 to 2025 – v.20.1) results in a pdf frame, meaning the text is uneditable. The only workaround I have discovered is to copy the text itself, paste it into the new document, and reformat the frame. I believe the discussion posted here - https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign-discussions/indesign-locking-text-frames-with-old-id-files/m-p/15147987 – is referring to the same issue.

4. [ID-3806494] Text Wrap Woes: v20.2 Update Fails to Resolve Text Wrapped Object Error Spacing Issue in Adobe InDesign

   This is a follow-up on the original bug report [ID-4257733], which addresses the issue of the "Text Wrapped Object" spacing error. The problem remains unresolved in Adobe InDesign version 2025 v20.2. Please find attached a PNG image illustrating the persisting issue

   Version of Adobe InDesign: 2025 v20.2, Mac OS 15.3.1

   Steps to Reproduce the Issue:

   1. Insert an image or free-flowing table into the text.
   2. Anchor the image or table in-line or custom to maintain spatial proximity with other images on the same page and ensure it remains adjacent to specific text .

   Expected Result: The ability to freely move or reposition the table/image anywhere on the page within the text, without overlaying or obscuring the text. This is particularly important for maintaining the relevancy and visual flow of the content.

   Actual Result: The "text wrap" spacing option fails to work for the text above the table/image, and the spacing is inconsistent—it does not work for the text above the table/image but functions correctly for the text below.

   This is a follow-up on the original bug report [ID-4257733], which addresses the issue of the "Text Wrapped Object" spacing error. The problem remains unresolved in Adobe InDesign version 2025 v20.2. Please find attached a PNG image illustrating the persisting issue

5. Resizing item using control bar value defaults to unlinked every time

   The resizing tool in the control bar will not stay with linked proportions - I go to resize an object to a specific width for example, I want it to be proportionally linked so I click the link button. It works, but immediately defaults to unlinked. Previously this stayed on what you had selected for the next time you used it. This is causing multiple errors when I am expecting it to stay linked. 6. Latest instead of the earliest version required in N-2 policy

   Indesign 2024 is buggy on my 27" iMac running mac OS Big Sur. 2025 is not compatible. So I use 2023. Just after the introduction of ID2025, Indesign and Creative Cloud stopped working for some reason and after cleaning my system of Adobe files to have it running again, I only have access to 18.0 instead of the leatest 18.5.X. Why do we only get the earliest version 18.0 and not the latest version of the N-2? Can we get the most recent N-2 version? Thank you.

7. New document size issues

   When I create a new document in any Adobe program (mostly InDesign) and select what size I want to change it to (whether it be custom or a print size), the size reverts back to a previous size. I have to do this 3-5 times before I get the size I want. It has been like this on the last few updates. I'm currently on the latest InDesign version 20.0 2025. Others I work with don't have the same issue and are on the same IOS (macOS Monterey 12.7.6) and InDesign as I am. Mac IOS and Adobe programs are all on the latest version available.

8. Font and color selection is not working

   Hello.
   I am using Indesign 2025 which was automatically updated on my computer on M1 Max MBP with Sequoia 15.1.1.

   When i try to change a swatch color on an object or a paragraph style on text, indesign will not allow me to make my selection. It will register the selection for a brief moment, and then the icon will deselect the option and my request was not taken into account. This bug is very frustrating as it is not allowing me to make any changes needed.
   This is a relatively new bug that was not there in indesign 2024 when i did this last a few weeks/months ago.

9. Moving pages not working because of "locked" content?

   In 2025 I have a file where I am trying to copy pages into another file and I get a pop up message saying "Cannot modify elements that contain locked content, or are contained by locked content. Please unlock or check out the content and try again." This makes no sense, I have never seen this before. There is NO reason for (as it turns out) having a locked object on a page to preclude me from moving/copying that page, this is isnane.

10. IDML export breaks structure when there is a tagged single row table at the start of a story

    When exporting an InDesign document to IDML and re-opening it, a specific set of conditions causes the tag applied to a table to be incorrectly reordered in the XML structure, and an extraneous <Table> tag to be inserted.

    This issue occurs when the table is a single-row table and is the very first element in the story (no preceding text or content). This bug disrupts the intended tag hierarchy, breaking workflows that depend on accurate XML structure.

    Steps to Reproduce:

    1. Create a new InDesign document.
    2. Create a text frame on the page.
    3. Within the text frame, insert a table.
    4. a. Ensure the table is the very first element in the story (before any other text or content).
    5. b. Set the table to have only one row.
    6. Apply a tag to the table (in my example CustomTable).
    7. Export to IDML
    8. Open the IDML
    9. Open the Structure Panel and examine the structure. You will observe the following:
    10. a. The "CustomTable" tag now appears before a <Table> tag representing the table. The expected order is the <CustomTable> tag encapsulating, the cells.
    11. b. The "CustomTable" tag is before the actual table in the story, without any content inside of it.

    Expected Result:
    The structure of the document should be maintained after exporting to IDML and re-opening.

    Actual Result:
    The custom tag appears before the table and a <Table> tag is added to the structure, disrupting the intended structure of the XML.

    Environment:
    InDesign 2024 (19.5)
    InDesign 2025 (20.1)
    Windows 11

11. [ID-4259937][Document Specific] InDesign and InDesign Server go into infinite recompose

    The attached IDML file is a minimized test case for an infinite recompose loop. To start the loop, open the document in an InDesign client and select the gray text frame and turn off its text wrap property. To stop the loop, select Undo or close the document.

    The test case is taken from a real-world IDS incident where this loop monopolized the IDS process for several minutes until our watchdog killed it.

12. App window resizes after presentation mode

    InDesign 2025 (v 20.0) on Mac OS 14.6.1

    When opening presentation mode (Shift + W or View > Screen Mode > Presentation …) and going back to default/preview mode the application window resizes.
    When having the app window to its full size after presentation mode it changes back to its smaller size that you can toggle by using the green plus icon on the top left (Mac Version).

    When setting both window states manually to full size and toggling between the two (without effective size change) once it works afterwards the window stays in the same size when escaping presentation mode. But this does not work all the time an is a quite annoying work around.

    I also got help via the support chat and tried to quit and reopen. This does not help. I reinstalled the previous version (Indesign 2024 v 19.5) and there it works fine.

    InDesign 2025 (v 20.0) on Mac OS 14.6.1

13. Paragraph shading disappears randomly when working in Indesign

    Expected result: the shading is displayed as it is applied in the settings, also when making an adjustment.

    Actual result: When opening the Indesign file, the shading is displayed correctly. But when a change is made in the area with paragraph shading, the shading randomly disappears in some places and the edges of the shading are not displayed correctly, which makes it impossible to make accurate changes in the shading. In the pdf, the shading is displayed correctly, as it is applied in the settings. So no problem there. It is merely when working in Indesign that the display of the shading is faulty.

    Reproduce: make an adjustment in the shaded area. Text in colums, anchored objects in text, placed images, shading merged

14. Searching and finding overset text no longer changes to the page this text is on

    In InDesign 2024, you can search for text that happens to be overset (outside a text box). When you press find next, the page changes to the location of this text box with the matching overset text.

    In InDesign 2025 version 20.01, you can search for overset text (outside the text box). The page will not change if the matching text is overset.

    Being able to search for text that is inside an overset text box, and knowing what page it is on, is an important function. Can we get this back? Seems like a simple fix.

    When using a Text Variable (Running Header ‹Paragraph Style›) and applying it to fully diacritized Arabic text, the first letter of the heading does not appear in the result. This issue arises when exporting to PDF.
    open indesign and Type the fully diacritized Arabic text, Assign paragraph sytle, go to Text variable - Define - New - Running Header «Paragraph Style» - Assign.
    The text is expected to display correctly without errors; however, contrary to this, the first letter of the fully diacritized text does not appear. This issue arises when exporting to PDF.

16. Multiple Issues

    I've noticed three glitches very recently in Adobe InDesign 2025. #1 - Seems like every other time I open the print dialog box to select the printer I want to use, the printers are in a different order in the list. #2 - Often times, when I open a document, my keyboard shortcuts won't work. I have to close the document and then re-open it to get them to work. #3 - Most frustrating is, I start to create a new document. I enter the document size into the New Document window and when I hit the Create button and it opens, the document is a completely different size than what I entered.

17. Selecting text on black background doesn't highlight selection

    Version: Adobe Indesign 2025 (20.0)
    The probled occured in a file that works perfectly in Indesign 19.5. However, when I open the same file in 20.0, the error occurs.

    Problem: When I try to edit text on a black background, the selected words aren't highlighted. It happens on some pages but not all. The layers aren't locked.

    How to reproduce:
    - create a master page with a black background
    - create several pages
    - add text boxes with white text in it
    - try to select the text inside the box

    Expected result:
    - selected text is highlighted in white

    Actual result:
    - on some pages, the text highlight isn't visible (although it is actually selected)

18. How to Fix Panels Opening Half Off-Screen on the Right?

    Adobe InDesign 2025 (v20.0) running on an Apple iMac, Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2019 with MacOS Sequoia 15.0.1

    When I have my panels-window set close to the right side of my screen and I click for example on the links-panel, it will open on the left side of the panels-window.
    When I have my panels-window set locked to the right side of my screen (or however it is called) and I click on the links-pnale, it will open on the right side of the panels-window and disapear by half.

    When I go to Scale of UsersInterface (see screenshot) and I slide the bullit to small (klein) then the problem is solved. BUT, then everything in the panels is (to) small 😞

19. The first letter of the Arabic text should appear correctly in the exported PDF, even when it has diacritics

20. Some dielines converting to filled shapes

    Environment:
    CS 2025 (InDesign 20.0.1, Illustrator 29.1)
    Mac Studio (M2 Ultra, 192gb, Sonoma 14.7.1)

    We receive dielines as .dxf files from engineering. We open these files in Illustrator and create a layered file (dieline and art), export the individual layers as dieline and art, then impose the project using InDesign. Some dielines are changing from a stroke to a filled shape (think Minus Front) once the .pdf file is written from InDesign. (line verified as line in Illustrator in both the Illustrator document and the pdf generated of the dieline to use for imposition. InDesign generated (imposed) pdf file is different from the files used to create the pdf. Attempted to resolve problem by placing Illustrator file and using "Object Layer Options" to control desired art. No effect.

    Occurs mostly on interior cuts, not perimeter cuts.

    Thoughts?
