2. Moving pages not working because of "locked" content?

   In 2025 I have a file where I am trying to copy pages into another file and I get a pop up message saying "Cannot modify elements that contain locked content, or are contained by locked content. Please unlock or check out the content and try again." This makes no sense, I have never seen this before. There is NO reason for (as it turns out) having a locked object on a page to preclude me from moving/copying that page, this is isnane.

3. Latest instead of the earliest version required in N-2 policy

   Indesign 2024 is buggy on my 27" iMac running mac OS Big Sur. 2025 is not compatible. So I use 2023. Just after the introduction of ID2025, Indesign and Creative Cloud stopped working for some reason and after cleaning my system of Adobe files to have it running again, I only have access to 18.0 instead of the leatest 18.5.X. Why do we only get the earliest version 18.0 and not the latest version of the N-2? Can we get the most recent N-2 version? Thank you.

4. Font and color selection is not working

   Hello.
   I am using Indesign 2025 which was automatically updated on my computer on M1 Max MBP with Sequoia 15.1.1.

   When i try to change a swatch color on an object or a paragraph style on text, indesign will not allow me to make my selection. It will register the selection for a brief moment, and then the icon will deselect the option and my request was not taken into account. This bug is very frustrating as it is not allowing me to make any changes needed.
   This is a relatively new bug that was not there in indesign 2024 when i did this last a few weeks/months ago.

5. New document size issues

   When I create a new document in any Adobe program (mostly InDesign) and select what size I want to change it to (whether it be custom or a print size), the size reverts back to a previous size. I have to do this 3-5 times before I get the size I want. It has been like this on the last few updates. I'm currently on the latest InDesign version 20.0 2025. Others I work with don't have the same issue and are on the same IOS (macOS Monterey 12.7.6) and InDesign as I am. Mac IOS and Adobe programs are all on the latest version available.

6. Selecting text on black background doesn't highlight selection

   Version: Adobe Indesign 2025 (20.0)
   The probled occured in a file that works perfectly in Indesign 19.5. However, when I open the same file in 20.0, the error occurs.

   Problem: When I try to edit text on a black background, the selected words aren't highlighted. It happens on some pages but not all. The layers aren't locked.

   How to reproduce:
   - create a master page with a black background
   - create several pages
   - add text boxes with white text in it
   - try to select the text inside the box

   Expected result:
   - selected text is highlighted in white

   Actual result:
   - on some pages, the text highlight isn't visible (although it is actually selected)

   When using a Text Variable (Running Header ‹Paragraph Style›) and applying it to fully diacritized Arabic text, the first letter of the heading does not appear in the result. This issue arises when exporting to PDF.
   open indesign and Type the fully diacritized Arabic text, Assign paragraph sytle, go to Text variable - Define - New - Running Header «Paragraph Style» - Assign.

8. How to Fix Panels Opening Half Off-Screen on the Right?

   Adobe InDesign 2025 (v20.0) running on an Apple iMac, Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2019 with MacOS Sequoia 15.0.1

   When I have my panels-window set close to the right side of my screen and I click for example on the links-panel, it will open on the left side of the panels-window.
   When I have my panels-window set locked to the right side of my screen (or however it is called) and I click on the links-pnale, it will open on the right side of the panels-window and disapear by half.

   When I go to Scale of UsersInterface (see screenshot) and I slide the bullit to small (klein) then the problem is solved. BUT, then everything in the panels is (to) small 😞

10. Some dielines converting to filled shapes

    Environment:
    CS 2025 (InDesign 20.0.1, Illustrator 29.1)
    Mac Studio (M2 Ultra, 192gb, Sonoma 14.7.1)

    We receive dielines as .dxf files from engineering. We open these files in Illustrator and create a layered file (dieline and art), export the individual layers as dieline and art, then impose the project using InDesign. Some dielines are changing from a stroke to a filled shape (think Minus Front) once the .pdf file is written from InDesign. (line verified as line in Illustrator in both the Illustrator document and the pdf generated of the dieline to use for imposition. InDesign generated (imposed) pdf file is different from the files used to create the pdf. Attempted to resolve problem by placing Illustrator file and using "Object Layer Options" to control desired art. No effect.

    Occurs mostly on interior cuts, not perimeter cuts.

    Thoughts?

11. MAC indesign2025 will stall for a few seconds every 10 seconds，stalls intermittently

    Every few seconds, indesign gets stuck for a few seconds, no matter what it does, it has confirmed that the computer's performance is sufficient.
    mac mini m4pro 48GB RAM + 1TB hard disk
    macos 15.1.1
    In the indesign preferences, the GPU performance column says 36GB of memory, but it's actually 48GB, and I don't know what's wrong.

12. App window resizes after presentation mode

    InDesign 2025 (v 20.0) on Mac OS 14.6.1

    When opening presentation mode (Shift + W or View > Screen Mode > Presentation …) and going back to default/preview mode the application window resizes.
    When having the app window to its full size after presentation mode it changes back to its smaller size that you can toggle by using the green plus icon on the top left (Mac Version).

    When setting both window states manually to full size and toggling between the two (without effective size change) once it works afterwards the window stays in the same size when escaping presentation mode. But this does not work all the time an is a quite annoying work around.

    I also got help via the support chat and tried to quit and reopen. This does not help. I reinstalled the previous version (Indesign 2024 v 19.5) and there it works fine.

13. Guides aligned with cursor and not object

    Just updated to InDesign 2025 (v 20.0) and had to switch back to the previous version due to the smart guides functioning strangely. The guides should show up in the center or edge of the object so that I can align it properly on the page and in relation to other objects. Instead, it's producing the guidelines from wherever my cursor is when I click and drag the object. This has made it much more difficult to do simple things like center objects, since it's just centering my cursor instead. I've never had any desire to align things based on where my cursor is. I don't see an option to turn this off.

    I restarted the program and checked for updates, and there were none. I also turned off and on smart guides, which didn't help. InDesign 2024 is still functioning correctly.

14. scrolling text frame

    When publishing my file online, a gap appears in the text within the scrolling text frame. (see attachment) The gap seems to be aligned to the place where the text hits the bottom of the container frame. There are no extra characters causing this gap in the text. I had the same issue with a document a year ago, but it looks like this bug is still there.

    Version: Indesign 2025

    Steps to reproduce issues:
    •Paste longer text box into container box.
    •Align content to top left.
    •Use overlays panel, choose "Scrollable frame," Scroll direction: vertical, Initial content position: Upper left, Export Format : Vector
    •Publish Online > Publish

    Expected result: text scrolls and appearance remains same as text in original large content box

    Using Arrow Keys in Transform Panel/Control Panel no longer works properly - ID 20.0.

    Since upgrading to ID 2025 (20.0) using the arrow keys in Transform Panel or Control Panel no longer works properly. Previously I would scale something larger/smaller using the arrow (or Shift+Arrow): 110%, 120%, 130% ... .
    Now with Shift+ArrowUp it will first scale 110%, then the cursor is no longer in the Scale Percentage Field. Second Shift+Arrow click and instead the Object will Flip Vertical. Third Shift+Arrow and it will start moving up the page.

    Now to scale up another 10% I have to replace the cursor in the Scale Percentage Field. Quite annoying when wanting to quickly scale something to size.

    This problem is not just with the Percent Scale Field but all the Input fields seen to react this way. Width/Height, skew by degrees, rotate ....

    This seems to happen only with placed images. Objects or Text Boxes created in the Document still continue scaling larger.

    Windows 10, ID 20.0, recently reinstalled Wacom Intuos but that was working okay before so doubt that is the issue.

    Bug when setting an even number for the start page number when creating a new document

    1. Version of Adobe InDesign
       CC2025 (ver. 20.0) JP

    2. Steps to reproduce the issues
       Set any even number for the start page number on the Create New Document screen.

    3. Expected result
       An even page number will be displayed in Current Page Number as set.

    4. Actual resul
       The value set in the New Document screen will not be reflected, and “Current Page Number” will display “1”.

    As shown in the attached figure, when “Current Page Number” is inserted into a new document with the starting page number set to an even number, the document starts with “1”.
    (As long as the number set in the new document creation screen is an even number, any value will not be reflected and will become “1”).

    This phenomenon can be recovered by temporarily setting a different value in “Number & Section Option”.
    However, for users who are not aware of this behavior, it is sure to cause great confusion.
    It can also cause significant time loss in finding a solution.
    We have not been able to verify whether this bug is specific to the Japanese version, but we recognize that it is a very serious bug.
    We sincerely hope that the development team will fix it as soon as possible.

    「現在のページ番号」に、設定通りの偶数ページ番号が表示される。

    実際の結果
    新規ドキュメント画面で設定した値は反映されず、「現在のページ番号」に「1」が表示される。

    添付画像のように、開始ページ番号を偶数番号に設定した新規ドキュメントに、「現在のページ番号」を挿入すると「1」から開始されます。
    （新規ドキュメント作成画面で設定した番号が偶数である限り、いかなる値であっても反映されず「1」となる）

    この現象は「ページ番号とセクションの設定」で、一時的に別の値を設定すれば回復します。
    しかしこの挙動を認識していないユーザーにとって、大きな混乱を招く原因となることは間違いありません。
    また、解決策を見つけるために大きな時間のロスを生む可能性があります。
    この不具合は日本語版固有の問題なのかは検証できていませんが、非常に深刻なバグであると認識しています。
    開発チームには早急に改善していただくよう切に希望します。

18. [ID-4256174]InDesign crashes while searching any font/word, etc., which is in overset text.

    We have simple scripts that operate on script labels to Find and Replace Text, adjust Text Size, things like that. We've been using them for three years with no problems prior to v2025. They crash and bring up the option to send an error report. We're rolling back to 2024 now, we can't operate efficiently without these scripts.

    The fix of the issue is now available in the latest InDesign 2025(v20.0.1.032). We recommend you upgrade to the latest version for the fix.

    If you are unable to see the update, go to the Creative Cloud application click on the context menu on the top right, and click on Check for App Updates.
