  1. Redefine style changes Grep Style

When redefining a style based on changes to an existing style (and that existing style has a GREP style in use), the style parameters of the style or grep style are changed. Whereas, if you edit a style directly and apply the same changes, the grep style is unaffected. See video.

In the 1st case in your video, you have applied a local override to the Style by changing. That's why you see a + in the name of the Style. When you Redefine that Style, the overrides go away and the Style gets redefined with the new attributes.

However, in the 2nd case, you are Editing the Style directly by opening the Style dialog. So any changes you make in the dialog automatically becomes part of the Style itself and there is no need to Redefine it from the panel menu.

    It is working correctly.

  3. Unequal inset values in an Object Style don't display in a text frame if corners are rounded

If you use an object style with unequal inset spacing and apply it to a text frame, the unequal spacing is ignore and made uniform.

    Steps to recreate:
    1. Create an Object Style
    2. Go to 'Text Frame General Options' for that style
    3. Set unequal values for 'Inset Spacing'
    4. Go to 'Stroke & Corner Cptions'
    5. In 'Corner Options' set 'Rounded'
    6. Create a Text Frame
    7. Fill Text Frame with placeholder text
    8. Apply Object Style to Text Frame

Result: unequal inset spacing is ignored.

If you apply unequal inset spacing manually there are no problems —…

  4. "Select all unused" triggers "Small panel rows" in Styles palette

    Version: 14.0.0.130

STR: Select "Select all unused" in Paragraph or Character Styles pallet

ER: Should select all styles not used in current document

AR: Triggers "Small panel rows" instead

  5. Size and Position Missing from Object Styles

"Size and Position Options" are missing from Object Styles. The option is simply not listed in the Object Styles options and I cannot find a reason for it anywhere. Everywhere I've searched says it should be there so that I can set a specific placement for an object with that style applied, but it's missing.

I'm using the software at work. It's Adobe InDesign CC - 2017.1 release. 12.1.0.56 x64 build.
