Tutorial sample files will not open
I've got version 14.0.2
In Turtorial, I click Get Files in order to download the files that carry the examples to be used in the tutorial. They download okay, but I can Open them (either from InDesign itself or by clicking the Explorer).
I get a dialog box reading:Adobe InDesign:
"Cannot open the file ".Applycolor.indd". Adobe InDesign may not support the file format, a plug-in that supports the file format may be missing, or the file may be open in another application."1 vote -
Data Merge won't include emoji unicode characters
I've created a test file with links and images and test text to try and replicate the fault. Follow the steps in the InDesign file attached.
Put simply, text – whether it is UTF-8 or UTF-16 can import unicode characters that are meant to represent emojis etc, and this is demonstrated in the test file. While not in the minion character set, I've created a GREP style that looks for unicode characters and changes them to apple color emoji. That bit works.
What does NOT work is when importing the text as part of a data merge... instead the unicode…5 votes -
Ctrl + Tab Keyboard Shortcut Bug
I tried to assign "Ctrl"+"Tab" to "Window Next" (to get the same shortcut as OS-default) but Indesign seems not to do anything when hitting this shortcut. When assigning other shortcuts to the same action it works.

Indesign CC 2015
When editiing text and applying styles using the eyedropper tools some users in my production team are using the colour theme tool by accident.
This is then applying the rich black colour swatch to pages that should only be using true black. Can you change the default colour to true black or allow the default colour to be changed.
Alternatively could you add a feature to customise the toolbar so you can remove/add tools that you want.

Variable chapter number
The variable 'chapter number' gives a problem, wherever it is used it is represented as '1'.
Because chapter numbers and paragraph numbers are not included in the Continuous header, it is useful if it can be displayed separately.
Is it possible to include this numbering in the variable in the future (as an option)?2 votes -
'Remember last export format' still not working
I posted a bug report on this a while back but I can't find it now.
This feature still isn't functioning for us.
InDesign only remembers the format of the last file exported.
So I just exported an InDesign file as a JPEG, and then when I returned to a file I worked on an hour ago, that I last exported as a PDF, the 'remembered' last export format is JPEG.
So NOTHING is being remembered across individual files at all.
This would be a great feature if we could get it working, but it simply doesn't work. Deleting preferences…

Layers
I was trying to export my design to a PDF (for print) when this happened (see first attachment). The elements in the two circles (far right) went missing (these circles should look like the circle on the far left - i used a red arrow to show what I'm talking about). And also, the (black) layers containing these missing elements were locked and cannot be opened/deleted/edited/moved.
After a few minutes, even the white circle disappeared (see second attachment).
Then the program finally crashed and gave me the option to reopen the recovered file but it was damaged (see third attachment).

Redraw problems when having multiple Textboxes in a Textflow (Often used in DatabasedPublishing)
macOS: 10.13.6
InDesign: 14.0.2.When placing a Text-Frame that Adjusts in height inside of a "Master-Textframe" (Often used in DatabasedPublishing to paginate Products that should not split between columns etc.) InDesign fails to redraw the placements of other Objects correctly - AND IT EXPORTS TO PDF!
This is horrible and has already lead to some huge problems in big Projects where we needed to work this way but InDesign made it a pain.

QR code generation updates
I love using the QR code generation. However, I am limited to only a few options. My suggestion is to add more options such as, upon scanning the code it would play an audio or a video file. Or, an option to redirect upon scanning to the App Store, or Play Store etc.

Indesign color separations preview does not work correctly
The preview goes haywire when I turn separations on and off in InDesign. See screengrabs. Is there a workaround? I have ben unable to find one so far - are Adobe just choosing to ignore this issue?

InDesign Libraries don't work with gradient
If I drag and drop an element with a color gradient to the Library and the drag itback in another document, the color of the gradient is away then and its a black and white gradient. My second document/file is a RGB-file and the other a CMYK file!

variables are not updating
variables are not updating when I change a values in a defined paragraph style. I have to close the document and reopen to see the changed value

font search
Have text or text box highlighted and want to select new font. Go to type in the Character box for a font I know I have, but it will not recognise it (happens with multiple fonts, not one particular one). If I then open the menu and scroll down the list and manually select the font I want, I can then type it in.

Can't press 'Done' in Adobe Comp after adding columns and guides
If I go to settings, add guides, I will not be able to get out of the settings as the done button does not work
Worked with support and they are saying it is not a bug, but offered no further steps other than posting here

SWF export showing blank page
I have tried to export a 673 pages Indesign file into a SWF file, unfortunately after exporting its showing a blank page. nothing working like the interactivity, page curl etc. Also I need to export it into a Interactive PDF how to do that.. Please help.

boxes in all control panels can not be activaded
In every control panel (no matter where) text or values in the boxes can not be activated. To enter new values or text, I have to delete each letter individually, forwards or backwards. This is very annoying.
When will this bug finally be fixed?1 vote
