1. metadata delimiter

   Hello, This is to report an ID behavior that constitutes a bug (to my thinking). This behavior has existed in every version of ID that I'm familiar with from the beginning through CC 2021. Documentation states that you can use any delimiter character you prefer in File Info. But it doesn't tell you that it will change your delimiters to semicolons as soon as you hit OK on the File Info dialog. This has been a thorn in my side for many years. I produce periodical scientific journals using InDesign as my layout tool. And ID is awesome for that. But every time I export a PDF, I'm then forced to manually change all those semicolons back to commas (that's what our website demands for full searching/indexing capability). Until our webmaster makes a change that will allow semicolons, I have to endure that frustration on every author list and keyword list in every PDF that we publish. There are very few, if any, options for batch search/replacing text in metadata of a collection of PDFs. I hope the ID development staff will find it in their hearts to change ID's preference for semicolons - or at least provide some alternative solution for exported PDFs.

2. Placing Graphics is missing from online User Guide Manual

   When going to InDesgin online User Guide, the whole section of placing images is missing (Both in English and Hebrew - didn't check other languages).

   I mentions this in Adobe Support Communities on May 22, 2019 Here:

4. Scripts

   When I updated to InDesign 2021 (V 16.0), all my custom scripts and their associated keyboard shortcuts were gone.

   I had to go into my Applications/Adobe InDesign 2020/Scripts/Scripts Panel folder and copy them over into that same folder in the InDesign 2021 folder.

   Not sure if it's happening across the board, but thought I'd point out my experience.

5. Helvetica Neue Packaging Issue

   Issues after updating to the latest version of InDesign. Helvetica Neue is not being recognized after update and will not display correctly. Screenshots attached for reference. Most typefaces are TTF. Was packaged and printed correctly on last version and now facing these issues.

7. Arrange object after unhide

   Using Adobe InDesign 15.0.1 x64 (CC 2020), after I unhid several linked image objects, I was unable to arrange those elements forward or backward to make it visible on top of other elements. The objects were not locked as I checked several times and even copying / pasting them would not allow me to rearrange them. Restarting solved the problem after I spent 20 minutes fighting with it.

8. Update to the latest version not possible

   After reinstalling Adobe Creative Cloud and Adobe InDesign CC 2018 (version 13.1) on a new Windows computer, it is not possible to update to the latest version 13.1.1.
   Even with a new installation of Adobe InDesign, version 13.0, no update is offered.
   All update installers should be available for all authorized versions * of the Creative Cloud.

9. No one else can open my files

   I've had several recent designs that I've been the author on, that when I share the working file can't be opened by other users. This has occurred with a company work design file and a personal project design. In both cases, these files were made with InDesign 2021 on Windows 10. The other users that tried to access my files were on Macs (unknown OS) using InDesign 2021 as well. This is problematic and damaging to workflows if other users can't open and work in files created by someone else.

   PS. It is unclear if this is an issue between users on the same systems Mac/Mac or Windows/Windows, but has been demonstrated as a cross-system issue Windows/Mac.

10. Files created in Indesign 2020 try opening in Indesign 2019. Should I deinstall 2019?

    I create files in Indesign 2020 and save them. The next day I'll double-click on that file to open it and it tries to open in Indesign 2019 and wants me to convert it. Why does it just not open in ID 2020? Should I uninstall 2019?

11. CC2020: Alternate text for hyperlinks

    In CC2020 a new function for writing alternate text for links was introduced.
    Using this function and generating a PDF Leeds to wrong PDF notation. The alt text in PDF is presented by alt text, which is forbidden in the PDF world, where alt text only should be used for non text elements, e.g. pictures. By presenting only the alt text the accessibility is lost – this is against the goal to hav a better output!
    A correct output would lead to a content entry.

    Note: Alt text for links is under discussion, as such alt text is not present for all users (it would be read out loud, but you can't read it) – this is not about equal access.

    Thanks for fixing, this would be a good step for all people relying on accessible PDFs.

12. Data Merge not populating correctly when placeholder curse overflow

    When using Data-Merge with an .txt/.csv and using export as pdf, indesign (still) merge the fields wrong (only use the first data-entry), if the placeholder and not the data curse an frame-overflow.

    Detailed description:
    You have a textframe with enough space to place the string "888", but not enough space to place "8888".
    You have a .csv table with a colum named "number" and values from "1" to "999".
    You select the file with data-merge and get a placeholder "<<number>>" and replace the "888" with it. Now you got a frame overflow.
    You select preview, and all values (1 - 999) shows up fine without any overflow.
    You try to export as pdf.

    You aspect: a pdf-file containing 999 pages with numbers from 1 to 999.
    You get: a pdf-file containing 999 pages all with the value 1. :-(

    Work arounds:
    1.) making the text-frame bigger, until the placeholder fits.
    2.) let data-merge generate a merged indd-file.

    Both work-arounds are no solutions! I often work with layouts where u can't choose option 1, small tickets for example. Solution 2 is a real nightmare if u work with graphics and many data-entrys.

14. Endnote references are not importing when placing word documents

    I am placing a word 365 document into InDesign 2020 with endnotes ticked to be included and the endnote references are not importing. In the past the endnote references will display in-text and a full endnote reference list will display on the last page in one text box. I have tried using 2018/2019 with the same result. This appears to be a new bug. I have attached screenshots of the Word document with endnotes displayed and the InDesign document after placing the same word document which shows the endnotes have not been imported. Also an anchored text box is also displayed in place of the first endnote reference. The text displayed in the box is not the endnote reference text.

16. [BUG] Text from pdf disappears when placing a pdf

    When placing a (PitStop server certified) PDF some texts in the placed PDF disappear (on screen as well as print).
    Only happens in latests Indesign/photoshop/illustrator, older versions work fine.

    PDF has no errors or problems in Acrobat pro preflight and PitStop server.

18. The app.doScript () statement no longer works since version 15.1.1...

    The script that I am attaching works up to version 15.0 and does not work with the next versions (certainly with version 15.1.1). The error that returns is "Unable to load Adobe Indesign Type Library 1.0" (translated from Italian). It does not seem to me that there are incompatibilities with the app.doScript () statement that generates the error.

    Hi,

    We created a business card for our employee, that includes QR code generated within InDesign. When we tested it with Android it reads everything correctly, but when reading QR code with iPhone, it only reads first and last name and job title. We tested with several different Iphones and everywhere the same result. But when we've tested a similar business card from a colleague, it worked ok. Sending both business cards in the attachment. Daniel Fischer's business card is not working correctly on the iPhone.

    We are using InDesign 15.1.1 x64
