InDesign panels do not expand or open when Application frame is Off
This problem has happened before and now its back in version 17.4 you click custom panels and nothing happens, you can only switch them in 'Application Frame' mode

"Paste into" not working in Layout Split View
When the layout view is split and you copy something and try to "Paste into", the option doesn't appear. You have to exit split view and toggle it again so it works.

InDesign 2023 Find/Replace is broken
In InDesign 2023 Find/Replace, page views don't update correctly with subsequent Find or Find/Change clicks and I couldn't see where I was. This only happened on my 2012 mac mini. On a 2013 model that I use at work, it worked fine. I had to go back to the previous version on both computers so they'd be able to open the same files.

Buttons do not work in Indesign
Certain buttons aren't working in Indesign. E.g. I can't click into the preflight panel, or the pop-up comes up for a millisecond, too fast for me to click into it. This is happening with the Preflight panel, the 'align to' button in the Alignment panel, and other toggles like it. Incredibly frustrating. I've tried restarting but the issue persists.

Opening a file with missing fonts freezes InDesign
Opening a file that has missing fonts freezes InDesign for a minute or so. Every document with missing fonts does this. If I manually activate the font and then try opening the same document again, there is no freeze.
InDesign 17.2.1, macOS Monterey (latest)
My coworker is on Catalina and has the same freeze too.8 votesFix for this issue is now available in the latest release of InDesign 2022 - that is, InDesign 17.4 version.
Please update to this version to get the fix.

Don't provide the GPU Performance menu for Windows
It's outrageous that a giant corporation doesn't have support to GPU Performance for windows, when we sign the creative cloud plan doesn't shows that works differently in each operational system. Please, develop this functionality as soon as possible!!

.idlk files not recognized/ignored when .indd files are in a Dropbox directory
InDesign 2023 v18.00
.idlk files are not recognized when working from a shared Dropbox folder. This issue appears to be very extensive and well documented. While I understand the many different use cases (synced/not synced, not connected to the internet, etc..) It would just make sense for InDesign to check for .idlk files within Dropbox directories and let Dropbox/Users figure out the potenetial for syncing errors and find a solution when those issues arise.This causes very frustrating issues for collaborative teams.

InDesign 2023 18.0 x64 with too much CPU in idle
InDesign 2023 18.0 x64 is consuming too much CPU in idle, without any file open.
System: Windows 10 Pro 2H22 x64, SO 19045.2130, Workstation Dell Precision Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2603 v2 @ 1.80GHz, 16 GB RAM.

InDesign 2023 18.0 /Users/user/Library/Application Support/Adobe InDesign/Version 18.0/en_US/InDesign Recovery/ filling up with DBTmp files
We have an automated process using InDesign to export the XML out of a .indd files. We are experiencing a scenario where InDesign is leaving behind numerous DBTmp files in /Users/user/Library/Application Support/Adobe InDesign/Version 18.0/en_US/InDesign Recovery/ to the point that our Mac is filling up a 500 Gig SSD. These files do not clean up after Quitting InDesign, a Reboot, attempting the Reset InDesign Preferences Shift-Control-Option-Command startup of InDesign. These files are also locked. Can't dismiss preferences if app is hidden. Mac m1 pro
As in the title, Bug: Open preferences. Hide indesign. Can't dismiss preferences. This is reproducible.

Activated Fonts aren't showing in the font drop down
The activated fonts aren't showing in the font drop down. They are showing under the Type menu at the top though. Nothing that I can't work with, Just very inconvenient

It would be nice and desirable if there was also GPU support in Indesign and Windows 11 Pro like Photoshop and Illustrator.

Frozen Blue Banner about Pantone changes
The temporary blue banner alerting me to the changes to Pantone's integration with Indesign has frozen in place partially off the screen and cannot be dismissed. I haven't restarted as I'm in the middle of a task and the functionality remains, it's just overlaid with the banner near the bottom.

Incorrect cursor movement when selecting text
There is an annoying bug when selecting the text: extending the selection is working incorrectly.
To reproduce:
1. Select a word with the mouse. Make sure the word is in the middle of the text. Select the characters from left to right
2. Now Shift+Left Arrow modifies the BEGINNING of the text, instead of the END.
Why is this a bug?
Open any other text editing software and see the difference: when selecting text with the mouse, the cursor is placed where the mouse button is released. If selecting from left to right, then pressing Shift+Arrow keys, will shrink/grow the…2 votes -
Selection extends in wrong direction - all other thext editors are doing well, except InDesign
There is a very annoying behavior in InDesign - when using the Shift+Arrow keys to extend the selection, the selection grows in a wrong direction.
To reproduce:
1. Click and drag the text cursor to select text.
2. Shift + Arrow left to make the selection smaller.
Bug: the selection starts to grow/shrink AT THE BEGINNING OF SELECTION, not at the end of the selection.
