1. Publish Online search text

   When I publish a document online from Indesign by activating text search, the related drop-down menu that contains this command at the bottom right of the web page, does not open correctly on iPads, both using Safari and Chrome, while on Android tablets everything works correctly. I kindly ask you to fix this bug, thank you

2. CUSTOM URLS FOR ADOBE PUBLISH ONLINE BROCHURES

   <> Custom URL, so it looks more professional to clients rather than it saying "Ind.Adobe" with loads of numbers following it.

   <> While on the subject of the URL, it would be fantastic if we could customise the cover photo/thumbnail rather than it showing the adobe logo, I'd like to show my brands logo. It would be a great feature for when we send the link in WhatsApp

3. analytics

   I've integrated a Google Analytics tag to my InDesign Publish Online document following the steps detailed in the recent announcement / setup guide.

   My analytics tag successfully identifies views when I load the document on the indd.adobe.com site, but it does not capture activity when I embed the InDesign viewer on a third-party website.

   By using "Inspect" in Chrome, I can see that the INDD embed includes code that references the correct Google Tag on third-party sites, but Analytics isn't registering the view – even after I click "Accept" in the cookie banner, and after I allow third-party cookies in my browser.

   I have added the relevant domains to the cross-domain configuration in Google Analytics' web stream details too, but that hasn't made any difference.

   To reiterate, the tag works for the document when viewed on indd.adobe.com, but not on third party websites.

   Any suggestions?

4. Numbering restarts from 1 after an unnumbered style in exported html

   1. InDesign 18.1 (since 17.2.1)
   2. Create a numbered list paragraph, insert a line of a different paragraph style not containing numbers, continue the numbered list on the next line, the number continues from the previous list. Export this file to an html file.
   3. Expect the number to follow what we see in the InDesign file
   4. The number restarts from 1 after the inserted line of a different paragraph style

   This issue has been resolved in the latest version of InDesign 2024(v19.0).  Please update to this version of InDesign from Creative Cloud Desktop application to get the fix.

5. Issues with epub quality on the new 2023 update

   I'm a book publisher. I downloaded the latest InDesign update last week. I created the files and saved them like in the previous software. However, the vendors are all rejecting the epub files stating they're not validating in their epub software. I had to go redownload the prior version of InDesign, and it works like a charm. The glitch seems to be in the new version of the InDesign software.

6. Indesign Online Dashboard improvements - Custom URL, Google analytics, Fname direct to send clients

   Indesign is hands down the best software to design & create digital brochures with its advanced technology & features its impeccable. HOWEVER talking about the Online Dashboard System its not leading the industry.

   I've done my research and a lot of the online digital brochure creator websites are ahead.

   I will list below a few new ideas/features I'd love to see Adobe implement to put them back in the lead when it comes to the publishing feature.
   (Some of these ideas are already being done by the online companies)

   <> Custom URL, so it looks more professional to clients rather than it saying "Ind.Adobe" with loads of numbers following it.

   <> While on the subject of the URL, it would be fantastic if we could customise the cover photo/thumbnail rather than it showing the adobe logo, I'd like to show my brands logo. It would be a great feature for when we send the link in WhatsApp

   <> Better and more analytics rather than just the 3-4 basic ones. The more the better it really helps to understand as much as possible. (gender/location/where they found the link/social media and so much more)

   <> To go one better a collaboration to implement Google Analytics

   <> Name tags - (I don't actually know what this is called) I'm sure you've all seen it when setting up emails in mailchimp for example 'Fname', then it automatically inserts the clients name.
   It would be fantastic if this feature could be inserted inside the brochure, so the client feels like the brochure itself is personal to them.
   Then instead of the traditional 'Publish Online' button, it has a send to box and when you enter each clients name & email it automatically fills the name and sends the Custom URL link to that specific client.

   I think finally I'm done.

   I have so many ideas so anyone that works at Adobe if you're struggling for new features you can give me a call🤣

   Thank you and I hope other Indesign fans will see these features as benefits, I look forward to seeing them on the platform soon.

7. Autoplay Embedded Videos Glitching

   I embedded a number of youtube videos into my indesign file and published online. They are all on different pages and are set to autoplay. They also have "start" and "end" times on them. Everything is working perfectly, except that when I go to view the published document online, the videos randomly start to play when I'm not viewing the pages they are on. I can hear them and not see them, unless I find the page the video is playing from. I've tested this in Chrome and Safari and am running into the issue on both. I would be nice is the videos played only when I am on the page where they are embedded. 8. export to EPUB Fixed Layout drawing shapes incorrectly and font spacing is all wrong

   I have a children's picture book that I am trying to turn into an ebook to go with the printed version. If I follow the menu path: File -> Export and choose EPUB (Fixed Layout), the entire book has the following issues:
   1) Shapes are all square - ignoring corner or being a circle or a freeform shape
   2) Fonts are set to some generic fonts and the spacing between lines and characters is all random and wrong.

   See three attached files to see how the pages are displayed with Indesign (source Indd file), and within the Kindle and Epudor readers.

9. InDesign publish online broken links and missing objects

   Have major problem with publish online, missing objects and links with question marks showing. This comes after 8 months working on this document with no issues at all. Really need this sorting by Adobe as I have to deliver project at end of this month latest.

10. Publish Online Analytics slow or failing

    Many of us have raised the publish online dashboard analytics slow loading and/or complete failure to work and it still seems to ne ignored.

    We have noticed across our design team that analytics seems to work differently across different accounts. Accounts with less documents published online have greater success and speed in returning analytics. Those with over a 100 documents for example have limited success.

    We think this maybe due to that when you request the analytics for a 'single' document Adobe systems are not just loading that 'single' document. They are processing the whole account and all documents within.

    This would makes sense in that an account with less documents can retrieve statistics for 1 year or 'since published' options. But an account with hundreds of documents 'for us' is limited to 60 to 90 day statistics.

    We assume this 'whole account' processing must be the case because when statistics for a single document are received for say a 1 year date range - all other documents can be 'instantly' viewed for that 1 year date range without any reloading or searching of the data.

    Can Adobe please fix this or at least tell us if it will NOT be fixed.

13. Display performance preferences impacting images exported with epub

    When exporting to epub (reflowable or fixed), any images are converted and rendered as grey boxes (see screenshot) IF the master Display Performance is set to "fast" (i.e. InDesign>Preferences>Display performance). Changing the local display performance setting (View>Display performance) or object-level display performance doesn't not affect it. MacOS 11.6.7, M1 chip. InDesign 18.4

14. Adobe Digital Editions opens links in unsupported version of Windows Explorer

    InDesign ver. 18.2.1. ADE opens hyperlinks in Windows Explorer, which is retired and out of support. There doesn't seem to be a way to specify a different browser in which to open links. I am using the most recent version of ADE (4.5.11.187303).

15. Adobe Digital Editions opens links in unsupported version of Windows Explorer

    ADE opens hyperlinks in Windows Explorer, which is retired and out of support. There doesn't seem to be a way to specify a different browser in which to open links. I am using the most recent version of ADE (4.5.11.187303)

16. Audio File sounds from one page to another with no interruption when turning pages

    I would like that the audio file that I place in one page sounds from that page to another with no interruption when turning pages, I publish sheet music, I need audio file sounding while people reads the sheet music.
    We place the audio file in the first page and I need an option that offer me from which page to which page must the audio file sound ?

17. World-Ready Composer Breaks Text Variables on Export to Fixed Layout ePub Format

    If one inserts a current page number marker or a text variable on a master page and the paragraph style of that text specifies Adobe World-Ready Composer in Justification, when exported to fixed layout ePub, the page number or text variable will not print. This bug is present in 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 and possibly earlier versions (haven't checked).

19. Entire note is backlinked in ePub export

    In InDesign 18.2.1 when I create endnotes via Type/Insert Endnote and paste in the text I want in the note, the entire note becomes the backlink. Can't have external URLs in the note as the backlink overrides them.

20. Endnotes in ePub use identical id's where an id should be Unique

    When InDesign 18.0 and earlier versions make a reflowable ePub, the endnotes cause the file to be rejected when checked by https://www.ebookit.com/tools/bp/Bo/eBookIt/epub-validator. The reason: each endnote reference is embedded in a span with an id twice, and the name or identifier of that id is the same. In HTML (which is the construct of an ePub) each id should be unique. You cannot have a HTML file with two elements with the same id-name. The next line can be found at the endnote reference, but a similar thing coccurs on the backlink, back from the endnote text to the reference.

    So in order to end up with an ePub that gets approved, I need to remove or rename one of the spans. This is something that needs to be fixed. I can't imagine why this error hasn't been mentioned earlier. The links back and forth do work, but this HTML/ePub is really not what it is supposed to be. For each endnote I have to make two corrections.
