Problem with the display of the navigation bar on an Android smartphone and tablet of a document published by publish online
Hi all,
I have a strange situation with a document that I created in InDesign and then published online using "Publish Online". From there I got a link to share.
On the desk, everything is fine. But the problem is with Android devices where the options tab with next page, previous page, download button and others disappears after a few seconds and there is no way to get it back.
It is not possible to navigate between the pages of the document.
This is the bar with the options I am talking about in the attachment.
Is there something that…

Interactive "Go to Page" destinations don't update when pages are added or removed from document.
One of the possible interactive actions in a document is "Go to Page." I can have a button jump the Publish Online view to a different page in the document. Unlike EVERY other page-related function in InDesign, the page number designated doesn't update if a page is added or removed between the button and the target page.
Example:
I set a button on page 3, that when clicked jumps the view to page 10. If, later in the document creation/editing process, a page is deleted between these pages, the view still jumps to page 10, not page 9 which is…

publish online doesn't respect layout
I can't drop screenshots for confidentiality reasons, but the proportions of objects in the exported 'Publish online' site don't match proportions in the inDesign document.
-images are strangely blurry even though they have more than enough resolution
-online objects not aligning with where they appear to on page in working doc, and scaling/cropping within their boxes differently too.1 vote -
publish online
When I try to view my published document, I just get arbitrary website information such as below. The same issue when I try to view my Published documents dashboard.
{{pageDetails}}
{{docInfo.map.documentName | limitTo: (isTouch ? 30 : 80)}}{{docInfo.map.documentName.length > (isTouch ? 30 : 80) ? '...' : ''}}{{pageDetails}}

Error #18 Publish Online
Hi,
I work on InDesign 16.1 on macOS Big Sur 11.2.1.
Since April 2nd, error #18 PublishOnline has been occurring when I try to publish online any of my documents. I tried on several computers and it still failed at 98%. I also tried with a blank file and the problem was there too. My files work well when opened with another account.
Please find attached a screenshot of the error as well as a test file. I tried every solution on the help center and it didn't work. Could the issue come from my account? What solutions can you…1 vote -

Export to ePub / html removes single characters from class names randomly
On export to ePub and / or html (on Windows 10 64-bit), single characters are removed from class names. This appears to happen randomly (as shown below), but consistently (the same tags will have the same errors after closing and opening the document, after quitting and restarting InDesign, after restarting the computer, and whether exported as ePub or html).
– span class="Colour" becomes span class="Colo r" (set on character style)
– h4 class="Event-Month" becomes h4 class="E ent-Month" (though h4 class="Event-Date" is OK) (both set on paragraph style)
– span class="Link" becomes span class="Lin" (set on character style)These same errors…

Publish online no longer allows hyphens and dashes in title
Is this a new restriction or a bug. It started after the update to 2021 version.
2 votesSome changes were done as a part of the Security review. As part of that review, Special characters are no longer allowed in the Title field in Publish Online starting with InDesign 2021.

You do not have access to Publish Online service.
I have been working with publish online services for a few months now and have spent the past few days re-publishing the same document trying work out some kinks in the button operations and animation timing.
Suddenly today, I began receiving this error when trying to publish online "You cannot use this feature right now. Please check your network connectivity."
Additionally, when I try to access the publish online dashboard I see this error: "You do not have access to Publish Online service."
I am currently running version 15.0.
Has anyone had this happen before and know what to do?…

Publish Online menu inactive after one use
Indesign 16.0.2
When you go to the menu File/publish online it's works the first time you use it. But, 5 minute later when you want to update your publish online document the menu File/Publish Online option is inactive (grey).
I must quit Indesign, relaunch it and after that, the menu File/publish online is active.2 votes -
Publish Online Image Scaling Issues
I'm running into an issue where images don't render at the correct scaling for Publish Online. See screenshots.
The image types affected appear to be PNG and SVG images. I can fix this by re-exporting the image as a JPG but that is a massive waste of time – we use SVG images heavily to keep file sizes down. If they don't scale correctly in Publish Online, it makes the feature basically useless for us.

Multi-state objects not working correctly
I'm having problems with multi state object not working as they should.
Sometimes its fine others not.
I've attached a video of the problem. It happens when you use buttons to change the state. It works for a while and gradually deteriorates. The state can show then you roll off the button and it reverts. As if a r'roll-off' state is in play. Eventually the multi-state target disappears altogether.
Its happening in different documents and in Indesign 2020 and 2021.
Colleagues don't seem to have problem so could need to reinstall. But wondered if you could shed any light on…

InDesign version 16.1. Hyperlinks interactivity function not working properly.
When creating hyperlinks within a document, certain links, although functioning within the hyperlink panel, do not translate as links when published online or as an ePub. This is completely random, as other links set up in exactly the same way (often on the same page) work fine. Have tried everything I can think of to fix the issue myself but can't figure out why it is happening.
Steps to recreate the issue:
1. Set up document
2. Set up multiple hyperlinks (mine are objects rather than text)
3. Preview in interactivity panel and/or publish onlineExpected Result: Links should be…

"You don't have access to Publish Online Dashboard" error
Hello!
I've been using Publish Online to make presentations for clients, and today I got a weird problem:
Every time I try to publish, it says to check my connection (which is fine).
And when I try to go to Publish Online Dashboard, it says that I don't have access to it, which I should have as I'm paying for Adobe.Does anyone knows how to fix this? I've seen the problem here on the blog, but I never saw the "How to solve it".
Thank you

Coruppt HTML Export in Indesign v16
I have a document, which is created in an older Indesign-Version. It contains many HTML-Export Tags - no Problem in Indesign v14 (CC 2019) and v15 (2020). When I export a HTML-File from Indesign v16 (2021), all n-characters in the span-class-Attribute are replaced with blanks!

Text originated from MS Word yields problematic results when exported to HTML (excessive <span> statements)
I’ve stumbled upon a bug evident in text originated from MS-Word, which affects the HTML structure when exported from InDesign. Originally I encountered it with Hebrew text in heavily-style-driven paragraphs, however I re-created it in a completely “clean” style environment as well:
(1) Create a new file in MS-Word. Type some text into it (as “Lorem Ipsum”).
(2) Copy the text and Paste into InDesign.
(3) Reset the Paragraph Style; then apply a Character style to the text (it could be a Character style with no attributes).
(4) Paste the same text into Notepad, then Copy it again from Notepad…

publish online
When I try to publish online it comes up with an error#39. I believe it's a problem with the proxy settings and my IT team are trying to fix this but they need to know what the network requirements are for it to work properly
