1. Weird things happening in layout

   different colors or shapes appear when zooming in or out. It does go away once you move a text box, etc.

2. page number

   Dear Adobe Team,

   InDesign 16.3.2 seems to have an issue showing previous and next page numbers.

   I draw a textbox > special characters menu > mark > previous/next page number > page number is included. Except it only shows the current page number.

   It would be nice know if I made a mistake or if this is a bug.

3. 3 page master page spread (book cover). Unable to resize just the spine, the page tool selects ALL pages on the spread.

I have discovered that the page tool works as expected when using any of the 'canned' workspaces, but using my (or any) custom workspace 'breaks' the page tool's functionality of being able to select a single page of a spread. Liquid Layout on or off makes no difference.
   InDesign 16.3.2 on Mac OS Catalina.

4. Document not opening properly - page is a small icon and whole screen is coloured

   My document was fine, but Indesign was glitchy, so I updated.
   Now I get this when I open the doc.
   Yesterday it did open properly after a wait. But today its the same.

   I've got a deadline follks - this isn't funny.

6. NEW DOCUMENT DOES NOT APPEAR AFTER LEAVING DOCUMENT SETUP

   WHEN CREATING A NEW DOCUMENT VIA THE UPDATED DOCUMENT SETUP DIALOG, NO DOCUMENT APPEARS AFTER CONFIRMING CHOICES. PRESSING COMMAND-N TO CREATE A SECOND DOCUMENT MAKES THE FIRST DOCUMENT WINDOW APPEAR UNDER THE NEWLY OPENED DOCUMENT SETUP DIALOG.

7. tables jumping to next page

   Sometimes tables that fit on one page jumps to the next page causing reflow. It does this randomly and can't figure out why. This has to be caused by bug in indesign. I really wish Adobe would focus more on fixing the many bugs in its programs rather than adding new features.

8. Fails to save, needs to be recovered every time document opened.

   Only way to save is make a small change, repair and recover then do not close until finished.

9. Guides/Grids not showing

   InDesign16.02 & 16.01

   For some reason today, when I opened an InDesign file from a packaged InDesign folder in the latest version of InDesign, I could not view the page margins, document grid, baseline grid or ruler guides. I tried toggling them with the shortcuts and by directly selecting them from the InDesign menu. I uninstalled the latest version and tried the previous to make sure it wasn't a version issue. I had the same result. No grids or guides would show no matter what I tried. I checked the threshold and made sure I was within it which I was.

   I tried opening another InDesign filed that had been packaged and I had the same result. I have tried this both on my iMac and my Macbook with the same result.

   I was finally able to get the guides to show when I opened the IDML file from the packaged folder.

   I believe this is a bug when opening packaged INDD files.

   InDesign16.02 & 16.01

11. Alt-PgDn inserts glyph after moving to next spread

    InDesign 16.0 x64

    Normally (and on the MAC), the user can press Alt/Opt+PgDn to center the next spread on the screen.

    This is now broken on Windows. At least on the 2 PC's I use, both of which are up to date on Windows and Creative Cloud.

    What happens now is that when the Alt key is released, a glyph is inserted into the text. And this causes the display to jump back so the insertion point is visible on screen.

    Of course, if I'm not currently editing inside a text frame, the glyph doesn't appear, because there's no place for it to go.

    This new problem prevents me from using Alt-PgDn and Alt-PgUp to navigate one spread at a time while I'm editing. For some reason, InDesign processes the navigation command (when NumLock is OFF) and thenprocesses the same keystrokes as if the NumLock were ON.

12. InDesign: Nach Update auf 2021 ist komplettes Dokument zerschossen

    Hallo,
    nach dem wir von 2020 (15.1.2) auf 2021 (16.x.x) upgedatet hatten, hat es unsere kompletten Magazinseiten zerschossen. Headlines // Fließtexte etc wurden komplett durcheinander gerührt und nicht mehr an der richtigen Stelle stehend angezeigt.

    Unsere kompletten Stilvorlagen (Absatz- und Zeichenformate) wurden total zerschossen.

    InDesign erschwert uns von Update zu Update unsere tägliche professionelle Arbeit.

    Wir sind nun erstmal wieder auf die alte Version gegangen, das hat zum Glück funktioniert – aber der Frust in der täglichen Arbeit bleibt!

    Wir können nicht ständig unseren kompletten Workflow umstellen! Das geht einfach nicht.

13. InDesign 2021 is not displaying my documents correctly

    I just opened my CV created in InDesign 2020 and after the update to 2021 font styles have changed and text is partially not displayed at all. This leads to the document's layout being off and not usable.

15. Y coordinates incorrect when pasting objects on pages with different heights

    I have several pages with different heights. If I paste an object using "paste in place" from page to page, they do not paste in the correct Y location from the original. However, the X location is correct.

16. Master pages populate page panel in wrong order

    When dragging more than one master page to the pages panel, the masters populate in descending order instead of ascending order (for example, Masters A, B, C populate in pages panel as C, B, A.)

    I'm able to consistently replicate this error on two different computers running different versions (INDD 15.0.3 and 15.1.1)

17. Books documents styles - shared without syncing

    Manually syncing styles between documents is clunky and prone to error.

    Styles for a book should be centrally definable, and accessible by individual documents. There should be a single source for paragraph, character, table, cell styles as well as footnote/endnote options.

19. BUG with master text frames, master pages and "allow pages to shuffle"

    Hello,

    Latest Indesign CC on Windows 10 64bits.

    I have a document, with a master page template applied to all pages in the document. There are master text frames inside the master page template, perfectly aligned with the margins on each left, and right page. In my master page template, I have set up the following margins for left pages :

    top : 46pt
    bottom : 46pt
    outside : 56pt
    inside : 46pt

    And the right pages margins set up as follow :

    top : 46pt
    bottom : 46pt
    outside : 46pt
    inside : 46pt

    On the left pages, I have a solid holding the current category / section, so I have set a larger outside margin.

    Everything looks good and aligned (text boxes are controled by master pages master text frames) until I delete one page for example, which makes every following right page, a left page, and every left page, a right page.

    From this point, in my pages, all text boxes are misaligned to the margins set in the master page template. That is to say that from now on, left pages have text boxes which are the size of right pages text boxes, and right pages text boxes have the size of left pages text boxes.

    To fix it, I have to select all my pages, and reapply my master page template to update the text boxes to match the master page's master text frames.

    Then, the text frames are finally properly aligned to the margins set in the master page template.

    I don't think this is how it should behave. Master text frames should always be synchronized to the master page templates and should not have to be reapplied manually...

    I might be using this wrong but I can't figure out an auto fix, and this gets really annoying when you have to fine tune your document, remove some elements, which can makes me delete some pages, which causes this issue.

    Any fix ? What about a option to make indesign aware when right pages become left pages, and left pages become right pages, and reapply automatically the master page template to adapt to those changes ?

    Am I alone with this issue ?

    We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding: Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.

    We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2020 (if you’re not already on it). It contains a lot of stability fixes.
