ruler guide disappears when deselecting
When dragging a new ruler guide, it disappears after deselecting it. This only occurs when you've placed it on a major gridline.

Import Word file - cannot set 'Import as Static Text' as Default Preset
When I import a Word document I want the option 'Import as Static Text' ticked all the time.
The problem is that if I tick 'Import as Static Text' and make it a new Default Preset, InDesign remembers this until I quit InDesign and then relaunch it. The relaunched InDesign doesn't remember it - it remembers the Preset name, but it doesn't remember to tick 'Import as Static Text'.

Save functions unavailable
I'm using a Mac and running Catalina, have ID 2020. Yesterday, an existing file of 33 pages stopped allowing me to save it. I had no idea it wasn't saving and lost hours worth of work by the time I realized what was happening. I tried starting a new document and pasting the text into it, but same problem. I started a new document again and it allowed me to save immediately, but the second I dropped in text (different text this time), I lost the ability to save the file. I can export to PDF or IDML, but cannot…

Text margins don't change when master pages are applied (still unfixed InDesign 2020)
The same issue from InDesign 2019 remains unfixed in 2020.

opens two documents
When i open a document a random second document opens, usually something i had been working on earlier. Double click file A and it opens, and then File Z opens as well without the command to do so

Moving a page in the Pages tab moves half the contents on the page
When you move a page (in the 'Pages' tab) half of the contents will move 3mm off like it's connected to the bleed on the background image, but half won't. My work around at the moment is to: create a new page > copy & paste in place.

pasteboard changes size when pasting things
InDesign CC 14.0.1 x64
Pasting things sometimes changes the size of the pasteboard drastically. Pasteboard margins could be set at 10 in and 10 in and they change to a few inches horizontally and less than an inch vertically. We keep things on the pasteboard. This causes us to fix the pasteboard size many times throughout the day in multiple documents. Over and over again.

Document size change/Master page elements appearing on pages where no master page is applied
When changing the page size in Document Setup and ensuring that adjust layout is not selected, master page elements are showing up on pages where master pages are not applied.
Version: INDD CC 2019
Steps to Reproduce: (this does not happen in all cases) In this instance, I changed the document page size in document set up and ensured "Adjust layout" was not selected.
Expected Result: The document page size would change throughout, keeping the same layout as/properties as before.

Hyperlink shows up red in hyperlinks panel despite the URL working
The following URL shows up in the hyperlinks panel as red (meaning it should not work) but actually works when a PDF is made:

Pasteboard size difference between CC 2017 and 2018 causes page view jump
This occurs when I begin to work on a document that was made in a previous version of InDesign, which by default had smaller top and bottom pasteboard margins. The first actual action I perform on a spread — not just clicking; something like moving an object, editing text and deselecting the text box, or creating a new object — causes the pasteboard to increase in size vertically to what I presume is the new default, which also causes the page view itself to jump down. We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding : Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.
We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2020 (if you’re not already on it) as it is more robust.
If you still face this issue even after updating to the latest version of InDesign, start a new thread by adding all the relevant details. We seek your support in our continual effort to improve InDesign.

Dragging the zero point to a new location will not work in rotated spreads
If you rotated a spread view and you want to move the zero point from the origin to a different location the landing point is never the one you dragged the cross-hairs of the rulers to.
It needs a sophisticated script that will workaround this bug. Currently I'm writing one, that should overcome this issue.
Nevertheless, that should be fixed.
Watch the movie clip where I like to drag the zero point to a new loaction and always fail.

[ID-4255870] Document Fonts available even if not active
Working on an indesign document that has its own “Document Fonts” folder that contains fonts specific to that document (not activated anywhere else), then switching to a new document that does not have any “Document Fonts” folder, the fonts of the previous document are still available, but if I close indesign completely and then reopen the new document the fonts are no longer available.
This is not correct, fonts that are not activated or not present in the “Document Fonts” folder specific to that document, should not be available for other documents that do not reside in the same folder.

New document size issues
When I create a new document in any Adobe program (mostly InDesign) and select what size I want to change it to (whether it be custom or a print size), the size reverts back to a previous size. I have to do this 3-5 times before I get the size I want. It has been like this on the last few updates. I'm currently on the latest InDesign version 20.0 2025. When duplicating page(s) the layout breaks
I'm on windows 11.
Since updating to 19.4 i noticed that everytime i duplicate a page it moves my whole layout around. It happens not only if i alt drag the page, also if i right click duplicate and when i made an alternate layout in the page panel. It also doesn't matter if i lock a layer. Everything gets moved a little bit to the right or the left, to the top or bottom. Sometimes it also slightly scales an image i believe. Footnotes won't number sequentially; cannot select multiple or all footnotes
When I place a Word document with footnotes into InDesign, the footnote paragraphs become separated from each other. I cannot click and drag to highlight text from more than one footnote, and I cannot use Command>A to select all the footnotes. Command>A only highlights all the text from the single selected footnote. Furthermore, the numbered paragraph style applied to the footnote paragraphs won't recognize that there was a previous paragraph flowing to it, so each paragraph is numbered as number 1. Master page Items on left page missing when overriden on right page's master page when both master pages are based on the same parent

"Allow Selected Spread to Shuffle" behavior in Page Panel is opposite
About Page Panel menu, "Allow Selected Spread to Shuffle".
When you check here, you can’t shuffle pages. You need to be off the check to shuffle. It's contrary to content.
I hope this will be fixed to "Not Allow Selected Spread to Shuffle".

Preflight showing overset text on non-visible layer
Whether I have Visible Layers or Visible and Printable Layers selected in the Preflight Options, preflight still shows as having specific overset text despite layer being unchecked for visibility (ie layer is not visible)

inDesign 18.3.0.50 often impossible to save document. Very annoying because to continue I'm forced to close the file / application and therefore I lose all the changes.

Unable to relink more than one image at a time
Cannot relink more than one image at a time in InDesign 18.2.1 (2023) even when "search for missing links in this folder" box is ticked. Therefore I have to import each image individually, which is time consuming. Has anyone else come across this annoying problem at all?
