applying colour to grayscale images against coloured background previews incorrectly
When I place a grayscale jpg in a frame with a background colour of C100/Y85/M0/K38 and apply a colour of C0 / M84 / Y100 K13, it displays correctly, red image against blue background. When I export that to PDF, the PDF preview shows no red, and a black box with the grayscale image knocked out in blue. When I open that in Acrobat Pro, it again displays correctly.

HSB Color Slider Not Working
The HSB/ CMYK Color slider window hasn't been working for months, every project has this window grayed out and disabled with no options to turn it back on.
If you want to change your colour you have to use the Color Picker, which in comparison, isn't good.

SuperMegaBlack
You have added a new color swatch called "SuperMegaBlack." WHY?!?!? It has precisely the same CMYK values as simple "Black." Very misleading, and a very stupid idea.

Help with Swatches
InDesign CC 2018
Trying to create a new swatch with "none" selected, but when I roll over "new swatch" button I get this symbol 🚫. On another forum, the correct answer was to select a user defined swatch; however, I am new to InDesign and working on my first project, so I don't have any user defined swatches. Please help. TIA

swatches don't merge when importing paragraph styles
When importing paragraph styles from the CC Library, the swatch colors for the styles get added to already existing swatches creating duplicates rather than merging. By the time all paragraph styles are added, there are 10+ swatches of the exact same color....
1 voteThe PANTONE 540 CP swatch, when added in InDesign, is a CMYK ‘Process’ Color swatch – it comes from the PANTONE Color Bridge Coated library. This swatch was used in a Paragraph Style and this style was added to the CC Libraries.
You also created another swatch (a custom swatch) which has the same name – PANTONE 540 CP but it is a CMYK ‘Spot’ Color swatch. This was present in the document when the Paragraph Style (created above) was added from CC Libraries to the Paragraph Styles panel.
When the Paragraph Style was added from CC Libraries to the Paragraph Styles panel, it found that a swatch with the name “PANTONE 540 CP” already exists in the document. Since swatches with the same name but different definitions cannot exist together in a document, it added the incoming swatch with a different name – “PANTONE 540 CP 2”…

Can't delete InDesign color swatch
Documents inherit a swatch from a picked-up file and the swatch can not be deleted.
1) This problem has existed for us since at least InDesign CS4 and persists through the current CC 2018 build (13.1).
2) In the attached file, "Select All Unused" in the Swatches panel. There is no content at all in the file. All objects have been deleted, as have all text and object styles. Try to delete the unused process color swatch, "C=80 M=76 Y=70 K=73."
3) We expect the unused swatch to be deleted.
4) Trash can icon in Swatches panel is grayed out…

Cyan swatch won't go away. Delete it, change default paragraph shading, starting new document, evey time I paste text from another source (NOT Indesign - Acrobat, Word, plain text) the cyan swatch keeps reappearing. PLEASE fix this. Have upgraded to latest version and still won't stop.

Why does InDesign not include all new Pantone colors?
I have 2 year old Pantone book and InDesign doesn't even include all of those colors. Fix your stupid software so it is up to date. Paying for this lousy software every month makes me feel like I am being robbed.

Specific circumstances where an RGB black cannot change to CMYK
To replicate this fault, please do the following:
1) Create a new document using the web workspace.
2) In the new document, open the swatches palette and note that the default colours show the RGB color spaces.
3) From the Edit Menu, go to transparency blend space and change it from RGB to CMYK.
4) Go to document setup and change the intent of the document from web to print. What SHOULD happen:
All colours in the swatches panel should go to CMYK;What ACTUALLY happens:
All colours in the swatches panel remain RGB. This results in an RGB black…3 votes -
Loading saved ase swatches come in wrong order
This is driving me bonkers. I have a group of custom swatches that I use in InDesign. I have them in a specific order. then I "save swatches" and create the ase file. When you "load swatches" and bring them back in.. they are out of order. this Is new behavior. I have been ding this since CS6 and it was never an issue. They would load in the same order they were in when you saved them. I can load them out of order and then reorder them. with no document open and it will stay that way for…

Colors are displayed differently between pages
InDesign 13.0.1 on iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017) OS 10.13.3
Open a CMYK document. Place an sRGB file on page 1. Place the same (or copy) on page 2.
Expected: the colors on both pages look the same.
Actual result: With color-proof switched off, the colors on page 1 show as if color-proof turned on while on page 2 the colors show correctly. See screenshots with the same files on 2 pages. I changed nothing I just moved the picture from one page to the other.
With color-proof turned on all pages look like page 1.22 votesThanks for reporting.

Indesign CC 2017 does not accept color management
Hello!
I work on Mac with high Sierra 10.13.2 with adobe CC 2015, 2017 and 2018.
I have been working with Adobe for 25 years and therefore know the subject color management settings & synchronization.
In Photoshop I have a color set made up of ECI RGB and ISOcoated v2 and other parameters such as rel.fartric with TK, etc. Then I synced with the bridge the suite on this set. Photoshop and AI do not accept this set but InDesign does. The error message comes:
"Some parameters of the color settings file could not be used. The default values are…
6 votesThank you for reporting the issue. We need some information around the issue which may help us in narrowing down the root cause:
1. Does it happen with the latest InDesign version 14.0.1 ?
2. Is it document specific or happens with all the documents?

CC2018 Swatch panel bug
The InDesign CC 2018 swatch panel displays different sets of swatches when set to different view options. “Small name” seems the most complete. Swatches are missing with the other settings especially after opening a document from a previous version of InDesign.
